Derek Adams' comments after Ross County's Scottish Cup defeat left fans scratching their heads

There's nothing like the magic of the Scottish Cup - until results don't go to plan, at which point it's less Dynamo and more disappointment as you realise you've been just scammed by a card trickster.

This weekend's action may not have brought too many shock results, but it is safe to say some fans were less than impressed with what they watched regardless of victory.

We asked for your views on a bumper weekend of action in the fourth round of the Cup - so here's what you made of it all.

'Nothing short of atrocious'

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ross County fans were left raging over the weekend - both with the heavy defeat to Partick Thistle, and manager Derek Adams' controversial comments afterwards...

Kyle: Adams is toxic for County and Scottish football. If his negative comments weren't damaging enough his taking over of the running of the club in an old-school dictator role is ruining lots of good changes. Regardless of results of late the club had made good changes in regards to reducing the number of loan players etc. Adams has ruined all of this.

Iain: I don't think any County fan is surprised that we lost this tie. I think it was an awful decision to take Derek Adams back, the way he has acted since he returned plus this interview, it sounds like he is desperate to get sacked and move back to England, and in my opinion it should happen straight away.

Davie: Another shocker of a performance. At home in the Scottish Cup and we only play one up top. Well done Partick, played us off the park.

Alan: When Derek first came in he hit the ground running with a couple of good results but since then things haven't gone well, apart from a draw at Hearts. His post-match interviews have been nothing short of atrocious. It wouldn't surprise me if he was relieved of his duties in the next few weeks as I don't think the players are playing for him.

Colin: Looks very much like under Adams Ross County will be playing in the Championship next season. He has put good players out on loan and replaced them with mediocre players from his Morecambe days. Was disappointed the headlines in today's paper wasn't about him leaving. He has lost the dressing room and refuses to take any blame.

'Without Shankland we are toothless'

Hearts may have come out victorious in the 'other' Edinburgh derby, but their performance against The Spartans on Saturday has left some Jambos a touch anxious.

Billy: This game proved that Hearts are nothing without Shankland. We huffed and puffed but didn't blow the house down. We need another striker, and make sure that it's a decent one.

Steve: Without Shankland we're a mid table side, we need to get him support with a big target man.

Angus: Watching Hearts struggle to turn possession into goals against Spartans made it crystal clear that without Shankland we are toothless.

David: Great to see Craig Gordon back but sorry for Zander Clark who has done really well for us. I dread what to think if, as expected, Shankland leaves.

'We must sign a goal scorer...'

Cyriel Dessers hasn't won over Rangers fans despite his cup goal against Dumbarton

Rangers saw off Dumbarton in what could be generously described as challenging conditions at the Rock - but despite a goal for Cyriel Dessers, some fans are less than happy.

Anon: Regardless of Dessers scoring a goal, he is still absolutely useless. He should be shown the Ibrox front door. Despite the dreadful conditions at Dumbarton, it was heart-warming to see really good performances from McCausland, Lundstram and Tavernier. Now to go all the way and lift the cup.

Dougie: Surely there needs to be a minimum standard of pitch before a game can go ahead. Being allowed to play on a quagmire does not help Scottish football.

Ronnie: We never at any stage looked in trouble. However, we still do not convert our dominance into enough clear-cut chances. A bad pitch and poor weather did not deter the players who gave a professional performance and we are through to next round. We must sign at least one goal scorer this window.

Meanwhile Celtic fans were a little more upbeat after their 5-0 win over Highland League side Buckie Thistle. But only a little...

George: Huffed and puffed a little but once the first went in it was just a matter of how many. Hope the Bhoys from up north had a great day at Parkhead.

John: Most of the plaudits in this match have to go to Buckie Thistle despite the 5-0 scoreline. They came to Parkhead with a gameplan and they stuck to it. Well done, Buckie. Hopefully promotion is on the cards this season.

'Not a spectacle of a game'

Aberdeen fans continue to look up at Bojan Miovski's performances.

And what of the rest? A mixed bag for fans, but with the transfer window closing next week it was player performances and moves that dominated the conversation.

John (Aberdeen fan): A good win on a terrible pitch in deplorable weather against a team who had nothing to lose. Again Miovski proved he is gold dust and his value must have rocketed, his goal and the chance that clipped the bar were class.

Kenny (Hibs): At least it was a win but not a very convincing one. The players need to be playing with an edge on their game and it's really up to the manager to make sure of that. Not happening so far.

Wilson (Livingston): Good feeling coming away from the game with a win, it has been a long time. Dan MacKay with an assist and a goal is also uplifting, he'll be getting more game time if Nouble leaves, and looks a much better player for us.

Dougie (St Johnstone): No shots on target today and not for the first time. A genius is not needed to work out that we need to win games to stay up. We are paying strikers who can't do their job.

Gary (Dundee): The team selection was baffling. Given we'd not really played for almost three weeks, why not approach it with your "strongest" available XI - or at least the most settled - if you really want to make a go of it? Chucked it.

And to end on a positive note, here's a happy Kilmarnock fan to round off the day.

Jack: A barnstorming start for Killie and a disastrous one for Dundee. Kilmarnock more than making up for conceding the late goal to Dundee a few weeks ago. Not a spectacle of a game, however the result is all that matters. Good to see a bit of rotation in the Kilmarnock squad in certain areas and other players getting game time. Roll on the next round.
