Wait, how did we go from an "Arsenal needing a trophy" debate to "is Liverpool's former manager praised enough"? Guys, we need to stay on topic - it's BBC appraisal season!

Martin, Jurgen Klopp should rightly be praised for his long-term planning. But Arne Slot has made loads of tactical tweaks too and shouldn't be overlooked.

Considering this is still the team Klopp built, with hardly any additions, how much credit goes to the former Manager for this Title win?

Thanks, Kenny. Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool won the Champions League before they won the Premier League, just saying.

This Arteta and Arsenal lot really remind me of Klopp’s early days at Liverpool. One of the first things Klopp did was turn us into a team no one fancied playing against. Sure, we didn’t rack up the silverware right away, but teams were genuinely terrified of facing the attacking madness of Salah, Mane, and Bobby. If Arsenal manage to bag the UCL trophy, it’ll be an absolute belter of a season for them, and no doubt it’ll go down as one of the defining moments in their history. European glory has a way of cementing a team’s legacy, doesn’t it? It could be the start of something truly massive for them. But if they fall short, you’d imagine it could knock their confidence going into the next campaign. Big moments like this can make or break a team’s mentality, can’t they?

Arsenal took an early lead at Emirates Stadium when centre-back Jakub Kiwior planted an excellent header past Dean Henderson from a Martin Odegaard free-kick in the third minute.

Crystal Palace looked dangerous on the attack but vulnerable at the back, and Oliver Glasner's side equalised through a cleverly worked set-piece in the 27th minute.

Adam Wharton clipped the ball to the edge of the area and Eberechi Eze volleyed his shot into the ground and the ball hit the post before making its way into the net.

Leandro Trossard gave Arsenal the lead just before half-time when he picked up a pass from Jurrien Timber and squeezed a shot into the bottom corner.

The Eagles continued to push for an equaliser and had good opportunities with headers from Justin Devenny and Ismaila Sarr but neither could get a good contact on the ball.

Palace did level for a second time through substitute Jean-Philippe Mateta, when William Saliba gifted him the ball with a dreadful loose pass 25 yards out and the striker produced an excellent chipped finish over stranded Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

Thanks Matt. Gosh, you know it's early when we're getting messages from Australia...

Anyway, plenty of Manchester United fans follow this live so let's ask them. Trophies but inconsistent in the league, or high league finishes but hardly any titles?

In fact, it doesn't really matter who you support. Get contributing anyway.

Arteta won something in his first season with a very average side, and now gets consistently into the champions league with a strong team playing good football. I know it hasn’t landed a cabinet of trophies yet but I know which I prefer, and dare I say ask any United fan what they’d prefer.

  8. Arsenal and Palace cautious before cup tiespublished at 07:16 British Summer Time

    FT: Arsenal 2-2 Crystal Palace

Having cup games in their mind, both Arsenal and Crystal Palace rested some of their key players for their midweek Premier League meeting.

Mikel Arteta only named Bukayo Saka on the bench after the Arsenal forward came off with a knock in the win over Ipswich Town.

Ben White or Mikel Merino missed out from the squad altogether.

In injured Merino's absence, Leandro Trossard played in the central striking role and bagged their second goal.

Oliver Glasner, meanwhile, did not start Palace's key attackers Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr on the bench with the FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa coming up on Saturday.

Crystal Palace twice came from behind to draw at second-placed Arsenal and leave Liverpool one point from being crowned Premier League champions for the second time in six seasons.

A draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday (16:30 BST) would now be enough for Arne Slot's side, who lead Arsenal by 12 points, to clinch their 20th league title - equalling Manchester United's record.

Both Arsenal and Palace's main focus is on their cup exploits, with the Gunners in the Champions League semi-finals and the Eagles at the same stage in the FA Cup - and both managers rested key players.

Yep, we're doing faces on the live again. Apologies to everyone who'll have to look at me until 4pm.

That said, today's Get Involved theme will definitely not be on my poor choice of haircuts.

Instead, I'd quite like it if we focused on Mikel Arteta. At what point do we start calling him a nearly-man, if at all?

And, is it Champions League or bust to save Arsenal's season?

Hello! So much to talk about this morning.

    Arsenal drew again

Liverpool are one point from the title.

Crystal Palace ended their mini slump as they prepare for the FA Cup semi-finals.

Should be a fun shift. Can't wait to see where we go with today's live.
