Almost a perfect first half for Kilmarnock.

They've rattled Copenhagen - although the visitors have passed up two golden chances of their own. One was inexplicably put wide by Victor Froholdt, the other was somehow saved by Kieran O'Hara.

Instead, it was Marley Watkins who got on the scoresheet, forcing home after Stuart Findlay hit the post and Joe Wright was denied from a yard out.

It's a strong right hand that gets to the ball to tip behind for a corner. That looks for all the world like a goal.

    Steven NaismithImage source, SNS

Hearts manager Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland that Lawrence Shankland just could not shake off his knee issue in time for this game.

"It just came too quick," he said. "We'll need to get used to this because the schedule is going to be unforgiving, and that's why we've got a squad.

"The type of injury it is, it's not one you can mask.

"We've got to engage the crowd early because it can be a great atmosphere and an asset for us.

"If we show we're trying to put our stamp on the game and gain some control, the fans will come with us.

"But we can't go gung-ho from minute one and put ourselves out of the tie. It'll be defined by small margins."

There is a chill surrounding Tynecastle just now, but the players on show can certainly help warm up the near capacity crowd inside the stadium.

Steven Naismith says the game has come just too soon for Lawrence Shankland but is confident in those taking the pitch tonight that they can get the job done.

    Marley Watkins

Now then! Has the tie just swung on that miss?

Stuart Findlay nods a free-kick on to the post, Joe Wright then toes the rebound at goal but somehow Nathan Trott saves.

Copenhagen fluff the clearance, though, before Wright tries to force it home from a yard out.

It breaks to Watkins and he shovels it in. What a mess, but Killie won't care.
