    Here's a stat that's hard to believe...

The last time record holders Arsenal won the FA Cup was back in 2015/16, nine years ago.

Then boss Pedro Martinez Losa led the side to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Wembley, with Danielle Carter bagging the winning goal.

Alex Scott captained the side on the day, with the likes of Kelly Smith, Jordan Nobbs, Casey Stoney, and Fara Williams also lining up for the Gunners.

A young Leah Williamson came on as a late second half substitute as she collected her first winners medal.

The club have finished runners up twice since then, losing the 2017-18 and 2020-21 finals to Chelsea.

Current vice captain Williamson would surely love to help lead the side to a record extending 15th triumph this season.

Sonia Bompastor has said that every player in the Chelsea squad needs to be ready during a busy and crucial month for the Blues.

The WSL leaders faced Brighton and Leicester City earlier this month ahead of today's FA Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace.

They will then take on Manchester City four times in a row in the space of 12 days - starting with the League Cup final on 15 March followed by the two-legged Champions League quarter-finals and a WSL clash.

"When you come into this block [of fixtures], it's really important for your squad to be prepared," Bompastor said.

"Every player needs to realise they will all be involved because it's impossible to play every three days for one month.

"This is where it's really important for a club like us to have depth in the squad. Every player needs to realise that in some games they will be starters, finishers, or not be in the squad.

"But, they all need to be ready for that mentally."

Bompastor's side are unbeaten in 26 games across four competitions this season.

  8. Can Liverpool spring a surprise?published at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Arsenal v Liverpool (14:30 GMT)

Arsenal and Liverpool hold identical records in the Women's FA Cup this season: Played- 2, Won - 2, Scored - 7, Conceded - 0.

However their league form is strikingly different: The Gunners sit third on 33 points, while Liverpool sit sixth with their tally almost half of their hosts, 18 points

Then again, the old adage of FA Cup magic could see the Reds spring a surprise at Meadow Park.

They are dominating possession but the passes are often going sideways.

Villa will be happier I think. Their body language was more positive when the whistle went.
