That was beautiful play for the goal between Willumsson and Anderson.

The goal felt like a bit of a throwback to the play we saw in the first half of the season.

Blues had been threatening with the ball for a while.

Now that will get them up and cheering again.

Blues have been circling that final third for a while and when Willum Willumsson flicks the ball towards Keshi Anderson, he's able to finally put it away for an opener.

Nice combination work from the pair to weave through the Mansfield defence.

There's some bustle from the crowd when they spot the retiring Lukas Jutkiewicz coming out for a warm-up.

So far they've had other glimpses of things to get excited about but nothing overly threatening.

    Will that change soon?

Another Blues corner but tall Mansfield defender Aden Flint is able to nod it out.

Only to the path of Kieran Dowell, who gives it a go from outside the box but doesn't connect well and sends it soaring above the net.

It is all about precision passing at the moment for Birmingham. Mansfield are doing really well at defending the space so far.

It has been that sort of game for the Blues so far, they are getting those positions, but the final ball is not quite working.

You get the feeling if they get one, the floodgates will open.

    Corner, corners, corners.

This one belongs to Blues. Kieran Dowell's delivery finds the centre of the box but again Mansfield find a way to get it out of trouble only to give it back to a blue shirt.

  8. 'Birmingham bit sloppy in possession'published at 15:18 British Summer Time 27 April

Birmingham got caught out there, they have been a bit sloppy with possession outside their penalty area.

  9. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Mansfield

    Underestimate Mansfield at your peril.

A Blues defender slips when trying to intercept a cross into the box and gives Mansfield an eye at goal.

It goes out for a corner and is taken with far more effect than the couple Blues had at the other end.

Deji Oshilaja gets himself into a great position and nods it with plenty of power but it heads agonisingly right of goal.

    A Mansfield chance!

The ball goes travelling up field finding Keanu Baccus.

He's got space as he goes to control it down to his feet but it's pulled back for a foul.

Could have been very dangerous if not.

Blues get themselves a corner when Keshi Anderson's ball into the box is cut out by a racing Jordan Bowery.

Alex Cochrane takes to no great impact but Mansfield can't clear and it goes out again.

This time Paik Seung-ho stands over it but his can't get past the Stags defenders either.

Find it likely Mansfield will need to keep sharp like that for the full 90 minutes.

It's been an electric start for Birmingham, likely aided by the incredible atmosphere buzzing around the ground.

Jay Stansfield makes a move forward and it sets off a couple of attempts into the box but nothing that can get past the Mansfield wall in front of them.

A promising few opening minutes though.

If they win today, they will break the record for the most points in League One history.

It is fair to say they have taken the league by storm this season.
