  1. Pep Guardiola due shortlypublished at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November

Man City v Tottenham (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is due to speak to the media shortly.

It will be the first time external media have had the chance to ask about his new two-year contract.

He said to internal media he was minded to leave when his previous deal expired in the summer but City's current run of four successive defeats altered his thinking.

Guardiola's new contract means he will be here for the fall-out, good or bad, around City's big Premier League rule breach case.

More pertinently from a fan perspective, it gives him the chance to take his current tally of 18 trophies at City to well into the 20s.

  3. Peterborough's Ihionvien sidelined by bone growth issuepublished at 12:09 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November

Peterborough United striker Bradley Ihionvien will be out of action until the new year because of an unusual bone growth in his leg.

The 20-year-old joined Posh from Colchester United in the summer, signing a three-year contract with the League One club.

But he has only made four substitute appearances in the league - and his only goal for Peterborough came in the EFL Trophy.

"Brad has had a scan and it's not good, he's got a freak injury in his leg. They've found another bone has grown, so it's a bit of a strange one," Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"He's probably going to have to stay off his feet for a couple of months."

  5. Man City's APT stance unchangedpublished at 11:56 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

It is fair to say Manchester City's position around Associated Party Transactions remains unchanged despite today's vote.

Last week, City wrote to the other 19 Premier League clubs to say they were 'concerned' about 'unlawful amendments' to the ATP rules.

They feel last month's tribunal ruling which demanded changes to the Premier League's rules effectively meant they need to be completely replaced, not tweaked as has happened. Clarification from the tribunal is still to be received.

City feel that will end up siding with them, which they believe will mean today's vote is irrelevant.

  16. 'Guardiola's new deal has severely irritated the rest of the footballing public'published at 11:04 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November

Man City v Tottenham (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

Chris Sutton BBC Sport columnist banner

It's safe to say Pep Guardiola has severely irritated the rest of the footballing public by agreeing his contract extension with Manchester City.

You can just imagine the groans from Liverpool, north London and the red half of Manchester, because they know how dominant City have been under him.

City are not playing well at the moment, which is why they are on this run of four straight defeats in all competitions. People have been looking at them as if the wheels are coming off, but they are still second and only five points off the top.

I do think Pep's new deal will give them a boost, and I am expecting them to bounce back.

Tottenham have also been described as a 'crisis club' this season but they are still only three points off third place.

The table is so congested that anyone in mid-table who wins a couple of games in a row is going to be right up there, but I don’t see Spurs getting anything at the Etihad Stadium.

There will be goals in this game, because Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will not change his approach. He has already beaten City once this season, in the Carabao Cup, but I think Pep will come out on top this time.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1.

  17. 'Etihad atmosphere won't be what you might expect after four losses'published at 11:00 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November

Man City v Tottenham (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Sam Lee
The Athletic's Manchester City correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast

There's obviously a boost [for Manchester City after Pep Guardiola's contract extension] and I think, for me, the boost is going to be medium term. The problem is, the recent results, lost four games in a row, for me that is heavily influenced by the injuries. As much as you can get a boost and as much as it is good news, [Guardiola] can't make players fit again. As long as players start to come back soon, I don't think they'll have too much of a problem. I do think most of the problems are rooted in injuries.

But at the same time, there's going to be a good atmosphere at the Etihad. I think Rodri is going to be on the pitch with his Ballon d'Or as well, so that's going to help so there will be some kind of big boost inside the stadium, as opposed to what you might expect - fans being concerned or annoyed at the four defeats in a row. It feels very different.

  20. Premier League win the battle - the war continuespublished at 10:47 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

My colleague Laura Scott took this picture outside the hotel where the Premier League meeting is taking place in London today.

It says 'Richard's Masters' and features the badges of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, backing the view that some of the biggest clubs in the league have tried to turn it into a closed shop with their financial rules.

Inside, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters has had a good morning, with a 16-4 vote in favour of the ATP rule amendments, with the decision coming far quicker than anyone thought.

However, the reaction of Manchester City, whose challenge it was in the first place, and Aston Villa, who wanted the vote stopped, is awaited with interest.

The battle may be won but the war may be far from over.
