Stuart Maynard won his first match in charge of York as the Minstermen extended managerless Yeovil's miserable start to the season.

Maynard, the former Notts County boss, replaced Adam Hinshelwood last month despite an unbeaten four-game start to the season and wasted no time in registering the club's second win of the campaign.

Ollie Pearce stroked a 26th-minute penalty straight down the middle before Ollie Banks doubled their lead 10 minutes before half-time after being teed up by Tyrese Sinclair.

A mistake by goalkeeper Harrison Male allowed Luke McCormick to equalise with 13 minutes remaining but Jake Wannell's own goal six minutes later ended any hopes of a comeback.
