  1. CLOSE!published at 14:09 British Summer Time 6 October

    Man City 1-0 West Ham

Oh my word! You would bet your house on Lauren Hemp scoring there.

The ball comes to her eight-yards out in absolutely acres of space and all she has to do is place it past Kinga Szemik in the West Ham goal but she blazes it over the bar!

    Incredible miss.

On hopes for the season: "The next step is to look at how to win more games, score goals, earn more points, especially at home. In the long run, we want to be in the Champions League."

    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Arsenal are playing it out from the back but it's not particularly convincing. The Gunners eventually break into the opposition half where Everton have everyone back defending.

  6. 'Both sides are in the battle for fourth'published at 14:04 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham v Liverpool (14:15 BST)

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

Tottenham had a really good opening start. Beating newly promoted Crystal Palace 4-0 sets a tone, they were lucky to get a point at Aston Villa last week. Four points, they would have taken that. They have got a bit of momentum, whereas Liverpool have just two draws.

These two teams are fighting in the pack for fourth place alongside Brighton, Manchester United. Both teams will be among that fight for fourth place.

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall has won 49 of his 68 matches in the Women’s Super League (D9 L10) and victory against Everton would make him the second quickest manager to reach that milestone in the WSL (69 games), behind only his predecessor Joe Montemurro (66 games).

Everton boss Brian Sorensen on facing Arsenal at Emirates Stadium: "It’s one of the toughest challenges you can face and on top of that, it’s at the Emirates. It’s a big task, but as always, we prepare to go out there. We set the team up to get something out of the game and to win – not to defend for 90 minutes. That’s not our identity and not what we want to do."

Jonas Eidevall will not be under-estimating Everton even though the Toffees have yet to score or secure a point this season.

"Every team is strengthening year after year," says Arsenal's Swedish boss.

"You compare Leicester's squad to two or three seasons ago, there is a massive difference. It's such an evolving league. That is why it is so exciting to be a part of the league."

West Ham wanted to be in the game by half-time and while it's 1-0, they still are.

But City haven't played great and are still dominating. They also have Khadija Shaw, Vivianne Miedema and Aoba Fujino to come off the bench.

That will be a concern for West Ham.

Everton's tough start to the season has not been helped by two of their players suffering anterior cruciate ligament injuries eight days apart from each other.

Spain forward Inma Gabarro was carried off on a stretcher in the 11th minute of last Sunday's 1-0 loss to Manchester United in the Women's Super League.

Meanwhile, Italy's Aurora Galli was injured in their season opener against Brighton, which the Toffees lost 4-0.

"It's extremely tough, especially with the small squad we have. It's two really good players for us, high profile," Sorensen said.

"We hadn’t had an ACL for three years and now two in a week which is never fun."

Tottenham forward Jess Naz has "one of the best X-factor's in the league" according to manager Robert Vilahamn.

"She’s so strong, powerful, quick and she has the finishing to be a top player in this league and in this country playing with the Lionesses," said the Tottenham boss.

Naz has already notched two goals in just three games (all competitions) this season, including an 86th minute winner against Championship outfit Charlton in the League Cup on Wednesday.

While impressed with Naz' progress, Vilahamn also noted that the 24-year-old is 'still learning' at the top level.

"Her next level is to be more consistent and to make sure she can handle other phases of the game. She is still quite young and still learning."
