If Brian Sorensen could have asked for a 0-0 at half-time against a strong Arsenal team, he’d be more than happy with that.

Everton have also had a couple of chances of their own so he will be really pleased with their display so far but he knows how important the first five/10 minutes will be after half-time to make sure they consolidate that work and it doesn’t go to waste.

  2. 'England looks frustrated'published at 14:55 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Two

Beth England is sat there looking very frustrated. We played together at Chelsea and I know just how much she would want to be playing.

It's hard because you've got players in Martha Thomas and England who should both be starting, but it's the beauty of having both players. Either would be frustrated if they were not starting but it is about taking your chance when you come on at the end of the day.

  3. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 6 October

    Man City 2-0 West Ham

That will do it for Manchester City. They make it two wins in three Women's Super League games so far this season with a routine victory and they could've had a lot more goals but in the end Lauren Hemp and Mary Fowler's were enough to wrap up three points.

Some positive signs for West Ham but they are still searching for their first victory of 2024-25.

  4. Postpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

It's hard to see what Tottenham do to change this at the moment, such is the success of the Liverpool high press.

They've got options on the bench, none more so than club captain Bethany England, but you feel that they are lacking that creative spark in the centre of midfield.

  5. 'Really good from Tottenham'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Two

Really good play from Tottenham. They look better when they do those one touch passes, it unsettles Liverpool and they have to adjust to it.

  6. Leicester and Palace searching for first winspublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 6 October

Leicester City v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

Less than 10 minutes to go until our final match of the day kicks off. Both of these sides are looking to pick up their first wins of the season.

Women's Super League newbies Crystal Palace have suffered back-to-back defeats so far but could get their first points on the board against Leicester City, who have one point from two games.

It's never an easy task coming up to the top-flight but the Eagles have already shipped 11 goals without reply with tough games against Chelsea (7-0) and Tottenham (4-0).

  7. Postpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

Hayley Raso, Maite Oroz and Evaliina Summanen play some nice one and two touch passing around the Liverpool press in the final third.

Once again though that last bit of quality, that final pass, is lacking and the ball rolls out for a Liverpool goal kick.

  8. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 6 October

    Man City 2-0 West Ham

Camila Saez takes and she goes for goal but it's a routine catch for Ayaka Yamashita.

We'll have five minutes added on.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 6 October

    Man City 2-0 West Ham

Manuela Pavi draws the foul from Alanna Kennedy and the Australian goes into the book for the challenge on the edge of the area.

West Ham have a free-kick in a decent position.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 6 October

    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Encouragement for Everton. Frustration for Arsenal.

  11. 'Beard gets the best out of players'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Two

Liverpool manager Matt BeardImage source, PA Media

Matt Beard was the reason I went to West Ham and the reason I went to Liverpool. He knows how to get the best out of players and it makes you want to play for him.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

Sophie Lundgaard is unable to continue here, but she was able to walk off the pitch unaided. Here's hoping it is nothing too serious.

She is replaced by defender Gemma Evans.

  13. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 6 October

    Man City 2-0 West Ham

Really good play from Manchester City as Laura Blindkilde Brown and Aoba Fujino link up well down the left-hand side. It comes to Khadija Shaw in the middle of the penalty area but her shot is blocked.

Just a few minutes plus added time to go in Manchester.

  14. 'Smith has looked really good so far'published at 14:46 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Two

Olivia Smith has looked really good so far. She's so direct. She should've cut back and that is something she will learn the longer she is in the WSL and develop.

  15. Postpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

Matt Beard continues to speak to the rest of his side as Lundgaard receives the neccessary treatment.

They have looked lively and created some good openings, particularly Canadian international Olivia Smith down the right.

The question is, how do they go about getting that second goal to secure their lead?

  16. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 6 October

    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Has this been Everton's best half of football so far this season?

They've been stubborn at the back restricting Arsenal to a handful of attempts while they have also gone close to scoring for the first time this campaign.

  17. Postpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

Concern here for Liverpool as Sophie Lundgaard is down on the floor seemingly holding her knee.

Liverpool players were quick to wave over the physios which isn't a good sign.

  18. Postpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 6 October

    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

This is a really open game.

Having survived a scare moments earlier, Emily Fox goes close to scoring for Arsenal with a powerful low attempt which fizzes just wide.

  19. 'Tottenham need a reset'published at 14:42 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Two

Tottenham need a reset. They haven't started this game very well. They need that clarity. It is about getting from the manager what he wants from them.

  20. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 6 October

    Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool

Spurs winger Hayley Raso is down on the touchline, seemingly needing a change of boots or some treatment.

The summer arrival from Real Madrid rolls her socks down to reveal a pattern of her old club's crest on her shin pads.

Might need to make a speedy visit to the Tottenham club shop...
