One of our colleagues has just compared the way Cameron Congreve gathered the ball, beat an opponent and delivered a cross for Simon Murray to give Dundee the lead to a famous goal scored by the legend Johan Cruyff.

But rule out Livingston at your peril. The West Lothian side have created a number of opportunities in the opening 45 minutes and I’m sure the chat from manager David Martindale will be on ensuring they take at least one of those in the second period.

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos bursts through the middle of the Aberdeen defence and squares it to the onrushing Regan Charles-Cook, but Dimitar Mitov comes off his line to smother the shot.

An incisive break has Dundee in trouble, but striker Robbie Muirhead's first-time shot from just inside the penalty box is beaten clear by goalkeeper Jon McCracken.

A huge chance for the centre-back

Mats Knoester HAS to score for Aberdeen.

The ball drops to the centre-half from a free-kick and he has the goal at his mercy, but spoons it onto the bar and Motherwell clear.

Cameron Congreve has a sight at goal again for Dundee, but the angle is extremely difficult as the midfielder meets a long cross to the back post and he can only volley into the side-netting.

A buzz of anticipation as the ball drops to Graeme Shinnie at the edge of the box but the Aberdeen skipper can only scuff a weak effort.
