Inter Milan have only lost once all season - and have won seven of their last eight games.

Boss Simone Inzaghi said: "We know we are working well. We know what awaits us – Arsenal are among the strongest teams in Europe – but we are playing in our stadium and we believe in our chances.

"We want to keep the ball as much as we can. Arsenal can cause us problems when they have ball, but we can do the same when we're in possession."

  5. Villa way below their usual standardpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time

FT: Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Aston Villa defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

It was a poor Villa performance all round.

They gifted Brugge their goal but they were sloppy defensively on a few other occasions too, and poor on the ball when they tried to build from the back.

Once they were behind they did really not do enough to get back into the game. Their quality on the ball was way below their usual standard and there was not enough energy in their team. They are usually so creative in possession but their final ball was not good enough to break Brugge down, and I was particularly disappointed by their set-pieces.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:50 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

Mikel Arteta, Manager of Arsenal, arrivesImage source, Getty Images

Arsenal come into the game in shaky form, having picked up one point in their last three Premier League games.

"With everything we’ve been through here in four or five years, what a great place we are in because we’ve been with problems of all kinds," said Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

"We are in an incredible moment and we are blessed to be where we are.

"We’re going to play this competition, we’re going to play 70 games, we’re going to have injuries, we’re going to have defeats like many other teams and it shows where we are and then how good we’re going to be to react and be ourselves and come here to win again."

What Unai Emery will be concerned about is fatigue. It is not going to get easier - Aston Villa have got Liverpool at the weekend.

It's finished 2-1 in Germany where goals from Heorhiy Sudakov and Oleksandr Zubkov were enough to secure Shakhtar Donetsk their first victory of this Champions League campaign, despite Kastriot Imeri opening the scoring for Swiss side Young Boys.

I am slightly worried for Villa and the form they are in. There's a lot of Premier League clubs complaining about fatigue, it's about squad depth. The performance was so flat this evening.

A disjointed, tired-looking game from Villa. You've got to feel for Mings there, but he'll laugh about it one day (hopefully).

FT: Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

Aston Villa's players are still seething with that penalty and Emi Martinez heads to the referee to make his feelings known. Don't forget you can watch that moment of madness on the MOTD highlights show later tonight and we'll also bring you a clip of it.

No matter for Club Brugge, they'll be delighted. It is their first win over an English club in 14 European games, drawing three and losing 11 since a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1995.

Bonkers! Madness from Mings. Villa tonight got what they deserved. Brugge were the better team and Villa going through a phase in the season where it all feels a bit flat.

Villa's form is worrying and it isn't just this game. Bailey and Watkins look at 20%, Cash and Carlos looking likely to give away penalties (and let's not even mention what Mings has just done). Our bench should be decent, but other than Duran our substitutions seem unable to influence things. Not sure what is needed, but if it doesn't change soon I fear our season will fizzle out soon.

  17. Villa lacking intensitypublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time

    Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Aston Villa defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Aston Villa are 4km down on Brugge on total distance covered, which is a lot more than you would expect. The intensity has not been there from them, and it was missing against Tottenham on Sunday too.

Aston Villa are probing for an equaliser in the final minutes but it's just not happening for them.

Just a lack of quality all evening from Aston Villa. It looks like they're a team who have not played together before.
