Although the new Champions League format is growing on me, I always liked the group format of each team playing each other home and away. I'm sure Leverkusen would have loved to have a crack at my team Liverpool back at their own ground if only to get revenge or earn back some respect after the 4-0 defeat.

Yann Sommer collides with Mikel MerinoImage source, Getty Images

This referee's been giving fouls for any tiny incident. Yet Sommer can come out and punch Merino in the head, and nothing! Football officiating really is a complete farce at times!

    Where has that come from?

Lovely bit of passing from Red Star Belgrade, quick one-touch football and Silas finishes emphatically.

The goalkeeper comes out and goes low early to try to make the save but it's a brilliant scooped finish from the Congolese forward.
