Villa need to find some intensity or this season will fizzle out. We are trying to coast through games and simply don’t run or press enough.

Let's hope Arsenal have more energy than what Villa have had this evening.

Club Brugge deserve the lead, they have been slicker, better and hungrier than Aston Villa.

It is still all so slow from Aston Villa and we're getting to the stage that there needs to be a bit of desperation in the play.

  9. Postpublished at 78 mins

Ohh Club Brugges have a brilliant chance to double their lead.

Jon: Thought Villa would step up a gear with all the players returning from injury, but it seems to have led to them taking a step backwards. They've been very disappointing recently.

  15. Something out of nothing to rescue Villa?published at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time

    Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Aston Villa defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Villa have been poor, but you look at the quality they have been able to bring off the bench and think they are still capable of nicking an equaliser, maybe by creating something out of nothing.

  16. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

It's still pretty slow this. Aston Villa have not managed to create a chance since the goal and all the substitutions.

  18. Villa have not got going yetpublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time

    Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Aston Villa defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

We are still waiting for Villa to get going here. They only had one shot on target against Spurs on Sunday - their goal from a corner in their 4-1 defeat - and they have had the same number here so far.

Brugge deserve some credit for that - they are very good at getting men back behind the ball when they lose possession.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    Club Brugge 1-0 Aston Villa

There's 25 minutes on the clock for Aston Villa to turn this around. They're going to bring on Pau Torres and Jacob Ramsey for Morgan Rogers and, you guessed it, Tyrone Mings.

It must be so demoralising as a manager when you work so hard preparing your team for a huge Champions league match & then your defender lifts the ball up in the area during open play!
