Gareth has been in my living room for 3 years since the last Euros when my son got him for the final! I give him a little tap and good luck talk before the matches! Come on Gareth and the boys, you should be so proud of what you have achieved, ignore the haters, integrity and being true to yourself will always win!

Win or lose, Gareth Southgate has done wonders for the cause. There is talent in his team but very few of them have won Champions League trophy or many trophies if that (minus the Man City lads and a few others)

The celebrations in Berlin are in full swing and as we questioned earlier, is there such a thing as too early?

Well these England fans are already roaring with a trophy, Spain may have a say in that part of the day yet.

Have taken the kids to the playground to burn off some nervous energy - mine. I want this so badly, God knows how Gareth and the squad are feeling. But they'll be ready, I know it. No more need for dreaming.

Been patiently and very nervously waiting all day here in Busan, South Korea. Having a nap before heading out to the beach bar for a 4am kick off. Hoping for an amazing sunrise across the harbour whilst England lift the trophy. Come on the lads, bring it home!

Good luck to the England team. As a Villa fan the Watkins goal brought tears to my eyes, he has worked so hard. Today we're having a BBQ with our three boys, all 21 years and above. We have Villa fans, Arsenal, Leicester and a Forest fan in our house. If England win we have some fireworks at the ready. England to win on penalties.

I'm currently in Edinburgh where I've been seranaded by a security guard singing Viva Espana at me. My 15:00 flight to Stansted been put back two hours, so now I'm sweating on being able to watch the game anywhere or it taking place while I'm airborne. We can do this - just hope I can get to see the winning penalty.

England captain Harry Kane on BBC Radio 5 live: "I think it’s important not to be afraid to say that you want to win it.

“I made that pretty clear back in 2018 before the World Cup started, but no one gave us a chance.

“I think you have to believe you can win.

“You have to think about what winning looks like and how can you get there and all those moments.

“All that positive energy and belief is what sometimes pushes teams over the line.

“We feel the belief is growing from the fans and everyone involved.

“We need everyone, including the fans, to get us over the line and it’s an exciting prospect.”

For so long a symbol of serial sporting underachievement, the England men’s football team stand on the threshold of what would be a seminal achievement.

Tonight's final represents a chance to shake off the failure that had come to define the side, and secure legendary status for the players and their manager.

And with many millions watching on, provide the country with a moment of togetherness. One that will be cherished for generations to come.

Gareth Southgate’s side has made a habit of reaching the business end of major tournaments over recent years, a rare source of consistency in the national landscape at a time of political volatility. Indeed, during the manager’s eight years in charge, there has been five UK prime ministers.

The comparison is apt, because as well as leading a team that forms part of the country’s identity, Southgate has been expected to comment on a range of societal issues during his tenure - one that coincided with the Covid pandemic, a cost-of-living crisis, and division. Few sporting figures would have handled such a challenge with as much thought and eloquence.

Mark Taylor (back row, far left) coached Ollie Watkins (back row, fourth on left) when he was between the ages of 7 and 11

One of Ollie Watkins' former youth coaches said he taught him the "touch and shoot" technique that saw the striker score the goal which booked England's place in the Euro 2024 final.

Mark Taylor, from Farnham, Surrey, said his phone "exploded after the goal", with people messaging him: "Your boy has done it."

Mr Taylor managed Watkins between the ages of 7 and 11 at Buckland Athletic, in Newton Abbot, Devon.

Watkins' 90th-minute winner in Wednesday's semi-final against the Netherlands has led to England being in the final stage of the tournament against Spain later.

But it wasn't an easy journey for Watkins to get to where he is now.
