Raith Rovers piled more misery on Airdrieonians as Scott Brown's winner left the visitors rooted to bottom spot in the Scottish Championship.

Rhys McCabe's side are now winless in eight games across all competitions and four points adrift of Dunfermline Athletic, who defeated Livingston 3-0.

Midfielder Brown scored the only goal after 20 minutes and the home side survived some late pressure to secure all three points.

Lewis McGregor's long-range shot was inches away from the top corner and McGregor and Ben Wilson both had efforts saved by Rovers goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski.

Neill Collins' side are still in seventh after their first win in four.
