  1. 'It is only Real going for this now'published at 22:22 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Real Madrid (agg: 2-2)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Aston Villa defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

It is only Real going for this now. At half-time of extra-time, Atletico boss Diego Simeone told his players not to engage - or go forward chasing the ball - if they couldn't be sure of getting there.

Atletico are still going to be hard to break down but with tired bodies and tired minds, you never know...

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

There are only so many things you can tell the players after this amount of time.

Then it's down to character, who is mentally strong, because the way it's going it could be penalties.

You need big personalities to step up then.

Someone needs to steady the space-time continuum if Arsenal and Atletico cross paths. It’s the dark arts clashing with even darker arts.

FT: Aston Villa 3-0 Club Brugge (agg 6-1)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa goalscorer Marco Asensio told TNT Sports: "Very happy for the victory. I'm very happy for the team and the fans.

"Every match the atmosphere is top. We want more. Now we have a little break and to think about the upcoming objectives.

"I like to score there (Holte End). We're adapting to the new players but we're in the right way.

"Very comfortable. Very happy with the team-mates, the fans and the city. In one or two weeks we have time to think about this [PSG] game."

    FT: Arsenal 2-2 PSV (9-3)

    Joe Cole
Ex-West Ham and Chelsea midfielder on TNT Sports

Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid, this Arsenal team can beat anybody over two legs. There are a lot of holes in their squad at the moment, no recognised striker, a lot of other injuries, but sometimes that can galvanise you.

  8. Postpublished at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Real Madrid (agg 2-2)

Diego Simeone is rather enthusiastically gesturing on the touchline and trying to get his players and the crowd going.

Carlo Ancelotti just raises his eyebrow, puts his hands in his pockets and chews his gum.

You would think they were managing two different matches.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 22:17 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Real Madrid (agg 2-2)

    We go again.

FT: Arsenal 2-2 PSV (agg 9-3)

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on TNT Sports

Raheem Sterling was one of the ones we were anxious to see. In spells he was excellent.

His involvement in two of the goals was probably the best football we have seen from him all season, and we are nearing the end of the season, so it has been a long time coming.

  11. 'I'm really enjoying the journey'published at 22:16 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

FT: Aston Villa 3-0 Club Brugge (agg 6-1)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings told TNT Sports: "It's good. Tough to put into words. When you're in it, it's hard to take it in and appreciate it, the level we're playing at. The bar keeps raising. The Championship feels like a long time ago. I'm really enjoying the journey.

"It's important for them [Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio] to come in and buy into it. They come with big reputations. For them to come in, hit the ground coming, buy into the group and show their quality is so impressive.

"We didn't get it right in the first half. It's important to stay calm and try to figure it out at half-time.

"His experience is so valuable. The ancedotes he gives us are so important to give us a reality check on how much work still needs to be done.

"Of course [he watched the PSG game yesterday], what else was I meant to be doing? Very tough game. We're so excited. We play in the toughest league in the world. When it comes to the Champions League, we'll go there and give a good account of ourselves. We'll enjoy every moment but we have a lot of firepower and quality ourselves."

Aston Villa 3-0 Club Brugge (agg 6-1)

    Matthew Upson
Former Arsenal and Brighton defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

What an impact Marco Asensio had coming off the bench.

He looks comfortable in that he'll still apply himself in a top level, having not started, and I know he's come wanting to play more football but the role he's playing is incredible for the team.

That's credit to the manager because he's made the environment where people come to Aston Villa and feel happy to play football.

Marcus Rashford looks fresher and looks like he's enjoying himself. They've got to make the most of it and enjoy the moment.

Look at the positions of Mbappe and Vinicius Junior there. Both of them hang back at the edge of the box and no one is gambling. Fede Valverde does everything right and that ball should be tapped in the net.

Fede Valverde puts a cross in the danger area but all of his teammates are caught on their heels and the change goes begging.

Valverde is clearly not impressed by the lack of urgency.
