Manchester City are miles off it. They really are. We have seen them lose games in the Premier League that we wouldn't have expected them to lose. But look in the Champions League, losing away wat Sporting, the loss at Juventus, the way that they capitulated at Paris St-Germain. There have been signs of their form coming back in the league but tonight highlighted all the flaws that they have got.

    Two stories to this game.

If you follow Real Madrid it was about how good they were, how they started so quickly and their attacking quality.

In a cup competiton they will hurt teams because of the way they can play from home. They can sit back, absorb pressure and then with Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo they can hit hit with power, pace, skill and quality.

For Man City, they hardly laid a glove on Real Madrid. They got the goal at the end and made two or three late opportunities, but in reality they were nowhere near the level we have come to expect from them.

In the first leg City put up somewhat of a fight. Tonight they just rolled over.

Nico Gonzalez scoring his first Man City goal here in the Santiago Bernabeu and he can barely celebrate it due to the circumstances.

  12. 'Easy task to roll it in'published at 21:50 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Real Madrid 3-1 Man City

It was a brilliant free kick from Marmoush, up and over the wall. Thibaut Courtois dives full length and doesn't get anywhere near it and it hits off the bar and off his back. And Nico Gonzalez has the easy task to roll it into the net.

  13. goal

GOAL - Real Madrid 3-1 Man City (6-3 agg)published at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Nico Gonzalez

    A consolation for Manchester City.

Omar Marmoush hits the woodwork with a free-kick but Nico Gonzalez is there to fire in the rebound.

VAR is checking for an offside, however...

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:48 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Paris Saint-Germain 7-0 Brest (10-0 agg)

Brest are shown some mercy and they are spared any added time.

Paris Saint-Germain have completely thrashed Brest at the Parc des Princes and they cruise through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Barcelona or Liverpool next for PSG, that will be a superb game.

  15. Postpublished at 21:47 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 3-0 Man City (6-2 agg)

James McAtee is bundled over and Manchester City are given a free-kick, but should it be a penalty?

It looks like McAtee is fouled just inside the box, but the free-kick is awarded just outside. VAR doesn't even have a look.

Omar Marmoush takes the free-kick but it is into the wall. Pep Guardiola isn't happy with that decision at all.

PSG are the first team ever to have seven different goalscorers in a Champions League match.

    They have been absolutely sublime.

  17. goal

    GOAL - Paris Saint-Germain 7-0 Brest (10-0 agg)published at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Senny Mayulu (86 mins)

    It's TEN on aggregate.

Senny Mayulu's shot should be saved by Gregoire Coudert but he ends up palming it into his own net.

    What a nightmare for Brest.

Haaland watching his rival drop a hattrick while he observes from the bench. I can't imagine how he feels.

Real Madrid 3-0 Man City (6-2 agg)

A notable moment for Luka Modric as he becomes just the fourth outfield player to make at least 10 appearances in as many as 10 different Champions League seasons after Cristiano Ronaldo (11), Xavi and Toni Kroos (both 10).

There is one trophy that this city, that this club holds as hugely important: the Champions League. This is the holy grail.

If Carlo Ancelotti goes on and wins it again this season then I think his future is in his hands.
