  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 2-0 Man City (5-2 agg)

Superb save by Ederson as Kylian Mbappe flicks out a boot to meet a cross but his shot is denied by the Manchester City goalkeeper.

The Real Madrid striker looks to have been offside, but Ederson didn't know that.

  3. goal

    GOAL - PSV 1-0 Juventus (2-2 agg)published at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Ivan Perisic (53 mins)

We have a goal and it's for PSV!

Oooh it's a great finish from Ivan Perisic.

He takes the ball down and fires into the bottom corner from a tight angle.

As it stands, we are heading for extra-time in this one.

    PSV 0-0 Juventus (1-2 agg)

It has been a rather lacklustre match at the Philips Stadion so far.

PSV failed to have a shot on target in the first half of a Champions League knockout game since March 2016 while Juventus had just a single shot on target in the first half of a Champions League knockout match since February 2022.

The second half hasn't started much better but there is still plenty of time to play.

  5. 'Important tackle from Dias that time'published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Real Madrid 2-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was an important tackle from Ruben Dias that time. Vinicius Junior looks like he is in on goal but Dias was there to tackle him. He goes with his wrong foot so he has to get it right and he does that time to stop the ball going into the box.

  6. Postpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 2-0 Man City (5-2 agg)

A stinger by Rodrygo, whacking a powerful effort from distance straight at Ederson.

The ball bounces off the Manchester City goalkeeper's gloves, before Ruben Dias produces a brilliant block to prevent Antonio Rudiger turning in a cross at the back post.

  7. Real have far too much spacepublished at 21:09 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 2-0 Man City (5-2 agg)

    Stephen Warnock

Real Madrid still have far too much space when they get in the City half. No-one engages with them at all

Manchester City need goals. They have subs warming up but Erling Haaland isn't one of them. He's effectively a spectator tonight.

We are going to have to witness something incredible, special, a one off night if Man City are going to get something from this game.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Brest (5-0 agg)

Nico Gonzalez is in the book for the most obvious foul you will see, almost pulling off Vinicius Junior's shorts as the Real Madrid forward attempted to get away.

  12. 'I expected City to make changes'published at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 2-0 Man CIty (5-2 agg)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

As I just said on 5 Live, from watching that first-half, you just wonder what City can possibly do to turn this tie around from here.I expected some changes at half-time from City - Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish and maybe Mateo Kovavic are surely coming on soon, but they are going to have to change formation at some point to go for the game, and of course Real remain so dangerous on the counter.

Interesting Pep Guardiola has opted against making any changes for the second half, despite Manchester City not laying a glove on Real Madrid.

  15. 'City possession hasn't really gone anywhere'published at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

HT: Real Madrid 2-0 Man City

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Man City possession hasn't really gone anywhere. It has all been around the back or side to side in midfield and that is very easy to defend against.

Everything is in front of Real Madrid. There are no runs in behind, no stretching the pitch. A complete contrast from what Madrid are doing.

City players look like they don’t know what to do, nor where they should be. Foden needs to work back to help out the young RB, but showing no inclination to do so.

  17. 'Game plan would have been focused on not conceding'published at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

HT: Real Madrid 2-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Any game plan that Pep Guardiola had coming into this game, set plays, shape, any other meetings, will have been focused around not conceding and staying in the game.

The manner in which they conceded the goal was poor too. Don't get me wrong it was a fantastic finish from Kylian Mbappe but the ball should never have reached him.

  18. 'Where is the urgency?'published at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

HT: Real Madrid 2-0 Man City

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The biggest word we are saying in the studio is urgency. Where is the urgency from Man City? It just doesn't seem like it's there.

Sadly you can't really see them affecting the game in any way in the second half. There is a complete contrast between the two teams and how they play.

  19. 'City never really recovered from going 1-0 down'published at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

HT: Real Madrid 2-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It has been disappointing from a Man City point of view.

To go 1-0 down within four minutes really took the wind out of their sails and they never really recovered.

They have not created any really good chancves. As the half finished they got better and grew into the game but as long as the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are on the pitch Man City look shakey defensively.

Without Haaland, City's attack is close to non-existent.
