Superb. Quite, quite superb from Kylian Mbappe.

    Kylian Mbappe (33 mins)

    Oh what a finish!

Kylian Mbappe, in this form, no-one would be able to handle him.

It all starts with a brilliant ball through the defence by Jude Bellingham to find Vinicius Junior, whose ball on along the edge of the defence is prodded through to Mbappe by Rodrygo and the striker has City defenders sliding all over the place before firing in.

Fantastic finish, City just can't handle that front four.

  3. City lacking legs in midfieldpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 1-0 Man City (4-2 agg)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

City's lack of legs in midfield is a problem for them, with that last chance for Kylian Mbappe a great example.

When Real get on the ball, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva could not get close enough to Aurelien Tchouameni in time to stop him clipping that ball through to Mbappe.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

    Real Madrid 1-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

That move was almost a carbon copy of the goal. Kylian Mbappe is on the shoulder and he catches the City centre halves on the hop. This time he opts to volley the ball first time and he just hits it straight at Ederson.

Another ball over the top and Kylian Mbappe is in but Ederson makes a really good save to deny the striker.

Sadly for Manchester City, this is looking like a matter of time before Real get another unless the visitors can find another gear.

  6. Real target Khusanovpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 1-0 Man City (4-2 agg)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at The Bernabeu

Abdukodir Khusanov is being targeted at right-back with Vinicius Junior relishing the chance to run at the young defender. It is not his natural position and this is a daunting task. Real really feel they can exploit City on that flank.

Wherever the turnover of possession is Real Madrid know that they have that option to break. They just sit in a defensive block and spring so quickly.

It is exactly as expected, with all the possession for City, but Real being so dangerous with the speed of Mbappe and Vinicius.

It is just so easy for Real Madrid down the wings.

This time, a sloppy pass brings to an end a Manchester City attack and starts a Real Madrid counter, Vinicius Junior charging through the big gaps down the left.

He feeds Kylian Mbappe, who toys with the City defence before his cross is deflected away from Federico Valverde.

  11. 'Khusanov has looked so exposed'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Real Madrid 1-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Abdukodir Khusanov was a big selection tonight. I thought he would play as a centre half so he would have the protection of a full back and Ruben Dias on his other side. He has looked so exposed so far tonight at full back and he is being exploited time and again.

  12. City unbalanced in attackpublished at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 1-0 Man City (4-2 agg)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

The knock-on effect of the way City are set up with Bernardo Silva moving in from the left to sit with Nico Gonzalez when they attack is that Josko Gvardiol is left on his own on the left.

It's hard to know what he is meant to do when the ball comes out to him, and City are unbalanced whenever they come forward.

City going out today wouldn't be a bad thing for them. They clearly aren't going to win this competition, and while 4th in the league wouldn't be bad in what is clearly a difficult year, 5th would be a disaster. They need to focus on domestic football.

  16. 'Madrid pace highlighting City lack of legs'published at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Real Madrid 1-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Real Madrid have so much pace in this side and it is highlighting the lack of legs in this Man City midfield. Rodrygo doesn't have to do anything special, drops his shoulder and does a stepover and gets past Ilkay Gundogan like he's not even there.

  17. City need to get the crossover spot onpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 1-0 Man City (4-2 agg)

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

When City are in possession, Bernardo Silva comes into the middle alongside Nico Gonzalez and Ilkay Gundogan tries to get forward to join Omar Marmoush and Savinho.

Out of possession, Gundogan has to get back and Silva moves back out to the left. They have to get the crossover spot on, otherwise Real are finding space to attack into.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  18. Postpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

Real Madrid 1-0 Man City (4-2 agg)

Real Madrid mix up their corner routine and the ball ends up at the feet of Federico Valverde outside the box, but his shot takes a deflection for yet another Real corner. This one, though, is dealt with.

    It is all Real Madrid.

  19. 'City not done a lot with possession'published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February

    Real Madrid 1-0 Man City

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

I didn't expect Man City to have the majority of the possession here but if you think about what they have done with the possession so far, it is not a lot. Thibaut Courtois' touches have been minimal so far.

Kylian Mbappe is playing with such confidence at the moment. A darting run by Rodrygo unsettles the City defence before he squares for Mbappe, but his shot is again blocked.
