Dan Udoh scored twice against his former club to earn Salford a 3-1 win at Shrewsbury.

Udoh broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark when he unleashed a powerful strike into the bottom corner.

Shrewsbury forward Bradley Ihionvien found space out wide minutes later and attempted a curling shot, but goalkeeper Matty Young managed to save.

Ihionvien tried his luck from 30 yards just before half-time but his effort rebounded off the crossbar and out.

Shrewsbury equalised early in the second half through Sam Clucas, who converted from close range.

Ismeal Kabia drove into the box and beat his defender just before the hour but Young managed to get a hand to the effort.

Matt Butcher had a chance from just outside the box shortly afterwards, but his effort whistled over the crossbar.

Salford regained the lead with just under 10 minutes remaining when Ben Woodburn curled in a delightful free-kick from just outside the box.

Udoh sealed the points late on, drilling his shot into the bottom corner.
