It's all a bit scrappy, a bit stop start. Francisco Sierralta wants a yellow card shown to Vini Souza as he lunges in but Sierralta is booked instead for asking for it.

Moussa Sissoko could have given away a penalty at the end of the first half but he has now been booked at the start of the second for a tug of the shirt. Master of the dark arts.

Ah no, it was in fact Yasser Larouci shown the card.

We're not even through the a capella bit of the greasy chip butty song when the Blades go close! Callum O'Hare's incsive pass to Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a peach, the winger cuts inside and his shot deflects over the top.

Watford had their moments in the half but Tom Cleverley will be worried about the control Sheffield United are having. They've got overloads all over the pitch.

I know Watford are the away team but they were really on the back foot for much of that half. The lack of possession they've had will be a worry to him.

That half was about moments. Bayo should have taken his chance. It was a poor decision by Larouci to concede the penalty but Bachmann spared his blushes with a good save.

If Cleverley doesn't change something tactically, we're going to see the same sort of pattern in the second half. If it goes to 2-0, it's going to be hard to get back in the game.

Let's be clear: this is a very talented Sheffield United side, by far the best we've seen Watford face this season.

It's going to be interesting to see what Cleverley tries to do. I wonder if he might think about using Kwadwo Baah to pull Sheffield United's defenders around.

I wonder whether he might bring on Sema as a more defensively-minded wing-back.

The Champ is as unpredictable as ever but defeats for Plymouth, Cardiff and Luton yesterday leave them without a league win this season and in the bottom three.

Sunderland maintained their 100% start to the season with a 3-1 win at Portsmouth and they're joined in the very early automatic promotion places by West Bromwich Albion, who beat Swansea at The Hawthorns.

Elsewhere, there was a first league win of the season for Millwall as they comfortably beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at The Den.

There was a look of incredulity on Callum O'Hare's face over that penalty appeal on the big screen we've got here.

Sissoko's pulled his leg as well. Cheeky. He'll be happy overall though, I'm sure, having played a part in the opening goal.

Some of the possession was very silky and creative, with Arblaster and Souza at the heart of it.

Callum O'Hare is into the area again - and that's half time. A fitting end.

Oh hang on, could that have been a penalty as well?! Moussa Sissoko grabbed O'Hare around the ankle as he tried to get back to his feet.

Watford lucky there.

It's been very good from Sheffield United so far. They only have one goal to show for it, though.

They could have had three or four - had they done so, Watford couldn't have had any complaints.

Chris Wilder's just had a word from the fourth official to get back in his technical area.

A pretty enjoyable half, you'd have to say. The long body of Harry Souttar comes in handy for the Blades as he stretches out to cut out a cross at the near post.

Gus Hamer was linked with leaving United this week but they kept hold of him and he's showing what a good player he is. He's starting on the left of midfield and coming inside, and running the game at the moment.

First he shoots over the top and then he jinks past two tired tackles to lash in a low shot which Daniel Bachmann saves well with his toes.

There was a real high-tempo intensity from both sides during the first 30 minutes. The way Watford set up, it's hard for their central midfielders because Sheffield United's wing-backs are drawing them out a bit.

That might be something Watford have to look at. It's easy for Sheffield United to get out from back to front, which is concerning me. Watford's positional play out of possession has to be better.

Ollie Arblaster leads Moussa Sissoko on a merry dance in midfield and then almost sends Kieffer Moore in on goal over the top with a scooped pass. A nice 30-second cameo for YouTube, that, from the young Blades captain. The game has hit a bit of a lull, though.

Some lovely footballers on display out there today. Watford's Giorgi Chakvetadze is another, skipping inside a tackle and seeing his ball in well cut out. If this stays 1-0, I'll be mildly amazed.

Yep, lovely skill now from Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who spins his man and puts Yasser Larouci into a knot before his eventual shot is charged down. Another gem out of the Crystal Palace widemen factory?
