  1. On the Boylepublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Hibernian v Motherwell (15:00)

The perception has been that Martin Boyle has had a fairly ineffective season until recent weeks.

However, the Hibs winger's five goals and three assists in the Premiership are as many as he had in the whole of last season.

Only in 2020-21 (12) and 2021-22 (seven) has the Australia international ever netted more in a single top-flight season.

  2. Form favours Hibspublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Hibernian v Motherwell (15:00)

Hibs are five points and three places below fifth-placed Well going into today's game in Leith.

But David Gray's hosts should be full of confidence considering they are unbeaten in six outings, the latest of two successive draws being a six-goal thriller at home to Rangers.

They are unbeaten in four home games, while visitors Motherwell have failed to score in three away trips without a victory.

Hibs also impressed in a 3-0 victory at Fir Park in their most recent meeting in November, but Well had won their first encounter this season - 2-1 at Easter Road - and will be looking for a repeat.

  3. Will anyone break scoring drought?published at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

St Mirren v Dundee United (15:00)

It's a big one in Paisley, where sixth-placed St Mirren will not want the seven-point gap between themselves and third-top United to grow any further.

But Stephen Robinson's side go into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats and have lost all three of their meetings this season without scoring, including 1-0 on United's latest visit in October.

Like the Buddies, United have themselves lost two in a row without scoring - and, also like today's hosts, their latest was an away defeat by leaders Celtic.

Of course, United's Jim Goodwin, who has only lost one of six meetings with his former club as a manager, will be keen to narrow the seven-point gap between his side and Rangers before the Ibrox side play on Sunday.

  4. Gogic and Olusanya drop to Buddies benchpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

St Mirren v Dundee United (15:00)

Alex Gogic is surprisingly dropped to the St Mirren bench along with striker Toyosi Olusanya and midfielder Caolan Boyd-Munce following last weekend's 3-0 loss to Celtic.

Alex Iacovitti comes into defence, Roland Idowu is in midfield and Mika Mandron is up front for Stephen Robinson's side.

  5. Will Bairns extend lead?published at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Falkirk v Queen's Park (15:00)

Only one match survives in the Championship after three matches were moved to new dates earlier in the week, so leaders Falkirk have the chance to extend the gap at the top to seven points over Ayr United as they entertain fifth-placed Queen's Park.

The visitors need the points themselves as they are now seven adrift of Partick Thistle in the race for a promotion play-off place after their Glasgow rivals' 2-1 win away to Hamilton Academical last night (click below for the highlights).

Meanwhile, Sunday's Championship game between Greenock Morton and Raith Rovers was called off this morning because of what the hosts say was "a major gas leak" at Cappielow.

  6. New signing Mair one of six Well changespublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Hibernian v Motherwell (15:00)

After the midweek draw in Kilmarnock, Well manager Stuart Kettlewell makes six changes, with a couple of them enforced.

Rumours of an injury to Aston Oxborough appear to be true as the goalkeeper is absent and Archie Mair, the loan signing from Norwich City, makes an immediate start between the sticks, with 21-year-old Matthew Connolly deputising on the bench after being recalled from his loan to East Kilbride.

Liam Gordon was a doubt and the centre-half misses out, with Marvin Kaleta, Dan Casey, Davor Zdravkovski, and Tawanda Maswanhise dropping to the bench.

As well as Mair, Stephen O'Donnell, Paul McGinn, Shane Blaney, Tom Sparrow and Kai Andrews all start.

  7. O'Hora & Levitt in for Hibspublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Hibernian v Motherwell (15:00)

Hibs head coach David Gray makes two changes from the 3-3 draw with Rangers last time out.

Centre-back Warren O'Hora starts for the first time since the Edinburgh derby on Boxing day, taking the place of Lewis Miller.

Meanwhile, in midfield, there's a rare start for Dylan Levitt as Hyeok-kyu Kwon drops to the bench.
