Hamilton Academical have been relegated from the Scottish Championship - pending an appeal - after a goalless draw with Queen's Park.
John Rankin's side fell to the bottom of the division on Thursday after being deducted 15 points for breaching several SPFL rules.
They had to beat Queens to maintain their chances of avoiding dropping to League 1 for the first time in 22 years but could not find the breakthrough against their relegation rivals.
Hamilton's only chance of staying in the second tier now is if they prove successful in their appeal against their sanction.
Queen's, meanwhile, stay eighth and are six points ahead of Airdrie, who are in the relegation play-off place, with two games left.
Hamilton manager John Rankin: "The players gave us everything and so did the support.
"We await the outcome of the appeal but we have to stay focused on trying to win the remaining two games."
