  3. 'Wait for the mistake and punish them'published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

HT: Man City 0-1 Club Brugge

    Izzy Christiansen
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

For the Club Brugge manager if he had written down a timeline of how he wanted that first half to go, that would have been exactly it. Catch Man City on the counter, drop right off, wait for the mistake and punish them.

The goal is exhibit A of counter attacking football from Club Brugge. They win the ball back in midfield and progress so fast. They target Matheus Nunes, he is one on one and just dives into the challenge.

The ball is put across the box and Raphael Onyedika slams it past Ederson. A fully deserved goal.

  4. 'Plenty more goals in this'published at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

    HT: Aston Villa 2-2 Celtic

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic and Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Villa looked set to get the job done and then Celtic came back into it and Villa fell to pieces.

There are plenty more goals in this one.

  5. 'Jubilation to frustration'published at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

    HT: Aston Villa 2-2 Celtic

    Sam Huxley
BBC Radio 5 Live at Villa Park

The atmosphere at Villa Park has turned from jubilation to frustration, except in a green pocket of the Doug Ellis Stand.

If the home side don't win tonight, Villa fans will be replaying the Ollie Watkins chance to make it 3-0 over and over in their minds.

Unai Emery trudged down the touchline just in front of us to the tunnel before the half-time whistle was blown. His side were cruising, yet go into the break level. I wouldn't want to be in that dressing room.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

Inter Milan 2-0 Red Star Belgrade

Two goals from Lautaro Martinez have Inter cruising against 10-man Monaco. The Italian champions are firmly in the top eight at the break.

    Liverpool have already qualified.

Arsenal have turned their game around which means they look set to qualify for the knockouts in the top eight.

Aston Villa have thrown away a two-goal lead and have now dropped outside of the top eight. They could even meet Celtic again in the next round.

GOAL - PSV Eindhoven 3-2 Liverpoolpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

    Ricardo Pepi (45+6 mins)

Well they've trailed 1-0, then 2-1 and now lead 3-2!

Conor Bradley fails to do his defensive duties and Ricardo Pepi slots into the bottom corner.

It looks like Bradley actually takes the last touch but I think it was going in anyway.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

  16. Guirassy doubles Dortmund's leadpublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

    HT: Dortmund 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

It's that man Serhou Guirassy again.

A pass from Julian Brandt sends him clear through on goal and he slots into the bottom corner just before the break.

Dortmund are currently ninth in the table.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola was watching intently as Matheus Nunes closed in on Ferran Jutgla. I detected his hand go to his head as Jutga strode past Nunes.

He marched down the tunnel at half-time.

He has never gone out of the Champions League this early.

    Joe Hart
Former Manchester City goalkeeper on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

There was always the danger that City would be caught on the counter. Brugge had already looked dangerous on the break.

City have tried every different route to get a goal - out wide on both flanks, and through the middle - and it hasn’t worked.

You can hear more from Hart on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.
