Paul Brownlie's side held Rangers at 0-0 for 57 minutes before Katie Wilkinson broke the deadlock.
Lizzie Arnot followed that up less than 20 minutes later after her shot was deflected into the back of Emily Mutch's net.
Despite numerous chances, Motherwell managed to keep the deficit to two goals.
