Lewis McGrattan's goal won the game for Airdrieonians
Substitute Lewis McGrattan's second-half goal was enough to give Airdrieonians a victory over Raith Rovers that lifts the hosts to within seven points of Dunfermline Athletic at the foot of the Scottish Championship.
The midfielder struck from outside the penalty box with 12 minutes remaining to secure a third consecutive home win and consign Rovers to a third straight away defeat.
Before then, Aidan Wilson went close for the hosts, while saves denied Ben Wilson and Lewis Strapp and Rovers' Jamie Gullan sent an effort just wide.
Airdrieonians are now unbeaten in five outings in the league as they move closer to lifting themselves off the bottom of the table with a game in hand over the ailing Pars, who lost 1-0 away to Hamilton Academical.
Defeat leaves Rovers four points behind fourth-top Partick Thistle with a game in hand.
