    Hull City 1-0 Sheffield United

Ben Mee gifts Oli McBurnie a clearcut chance with a loose pass midway through the Sheffield United half and he needs no further invitation to race through and engineers space to fire a shot.

Fortunately for the backtracking Mee, Michael Cooper comes to the rescue with a good low block but that was a huge let-off for the Blades.

  2. CLOSE!published at 13:41 BST

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

City defender Bobby Thomas might have scored three goals on another day.

His goalbound headers led to the first and third goals and he's met a bullet of a long throw from Milan van Ewijk with his noggin again here, looping a header a foot over the crossbar with Ethan Horvath scrambling back to try to cover it.

Million Manhoef muscles his way past a defender and then his shot is deflected before landing in the back of the net.

Blackburn had started the half well but it is the visitors who take the lead.

No changes at the break, but you'd expect ref Adam Herczeg and his officials copped an earful in the tunnel.

That third goal was the best advert for VAR in the Championship you could ask for, although... do we really want that?

Thumbs up for yes, down for no... let us know!

We've started well, we look solid at the start of this half.

Only four minutes in but you get that feeling.

We're back under way at the MKM Stadium and Ewood Park with Hillsborough set to follow in the next few minutes too.

A huge 45 minutes for a lot of teams, and managers, coming up...

This Coventry team look good, a really positive attitude. Simple tactic from Lampard, we will just keep attacking and outscore you!

    Championship table

Drink it in Sky Blues fans, top of the pile, for at least a few hours.

That frightening goal difference might also swell a little more in the second half too, if things keep going as they have been at Hillsborough.

The ONLY slight consolation for Wednesday is that their fierce rivals United, the only side below them, are also behind at the break.

Hull are on course for the top-half, as things stand, while Blackburn are out of the bottom three in the live table, with Oxford United below the dotted line, for now...

Obviously isn’t going to impact the result, but the standards of referees and linesmen in the Championship have never been lower. Absolute embarrassment from the linesman for Coventry’s third goal.

It's not the worst 45 minutes but a simple goal, the manager will not be happy about it.

He's got to do something about the midfield, the game's there to be won.

Hull aren't the greatest, apart from their one ball, they've not caused us many issues.

Just the FOUR Coventry players offside for that third goal.

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

Coventry City's Brandon Thomas-Asante (centre) celebrates scoringImage source, PA Media

As plucky as they have been of late, it's been a pretty dark day for Sheffield Wednesday so far.

Brandon Thomas-Asante poked home Bobby Thomas' goalbound header from inches out after just three minutes before a five-minute delay when fans entered the field to protest against owner Dejphon Chansiri after 10 minutes.

When play resumed, Coventry looked threatening every time they came forward. Thomas-Asante fired a second, on 33 minutes, a low shot into the corner from just inside the area before Haji Wright poked home Thomas' header from inches out, despite having been in an offside position, in the final seconds of the time added on for the earlier protest.

Owls have defended doggedly and Yan Valery and Liam Palmer have sent pot-shots over at the other end, but this looks likely to be another healthy win for Coventry who will go top in an hour or so, while Wednesday remain deep in trouble in the bottom two.

  14. 'An incredible scoring rate'published at 13:24 BST

    Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

It's got to count, it's definitely got to count.

Sheffield Wednesday didn't defend it, it's that simple, a simple side foot finish, an incredible scoring rate so far.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:22 BST

    Blackburn 0-0 Stoke

The referee blows for the end of the first half.

The first 45 started and ends with big chances for Stoke to take the lead but we head into the break with the deadlock yet to be broken.

Blackburn had chances of their own, and after struggling to get going early on they ended the half in stronger fashion.

A big second half to come!

  16. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 0-3 Coventrypublished at 13:21 BST

    Haji Wright (45+6 mins)

Oh dear... insult added to injury.

Matt Grimes swings in a left-footed cross which is flicked on by the head Brandon Thomas-Asante.

Bobby Thomas nods the looping ball past keeper Ethan Horvath where Haji Wright pokes home from a yard out, even though he was clearly in an offside position.

The home players and fans are incensed, but the goal will stand.

Eight for the season for Wright. 25 goals for City, which have actually come in seven games as they were scoreless in two others. Incredible.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:21 BST

    Sheff Wed 0-2 Coventry

Dominic Iorfa has his name taken in the dying seconds of the half after hauling back Haji Wright as he tried to break away onto a header forward from midfield.

    Still a minute to play.

Head shaking and grim faces from the Blades players as they leave the pitch at the break and they will feel they had the better of the chances.

Gus Hamer struck the post on 25 minutes and Sydie Peck had a good chance to level on 40 but in between is the only one that matters and it was taken by David Akintola on the half hour as the Tigers lead.

  19. Postpublished at 13:19 BST

Two added minutes at the end of this first half and in the first of them Callum O'Hare nearly gets through on the left side only to be denied by a superbly timed tackle from Charlie Hughes.
