Chris Kane's second goal made it 3-0 for the hosts

Dunfermline Athletic shocked Scottish Championship title contenders Livingston with a dominant win at East End Park.

Chris Kane scored a goal in each half as the Pars recorded just their second win of the league season.

The striker fired the home side in front in the seventh minute and rounded off the scoring with a close-range header from David Wotherspoon's cross with 19 minutes remaining.

Wotherspoon had earlier set up Kyle Benedictus to make it 2-0 to the hosts as second-placed Livingston remained four points adrift of pacesetters Falkirk.

The victory was not enough to improve Dunfermline's own league position, however, with Raith Rovers claiming a 1-0 win over Airdrieonians.
