  2. 'We need to start strong'published at 19:28 BST

Tottenham v Man City (19:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz speaking to Sky Sports: "I think that most of the things are about us. We are still early in the season and building a new way of playing. There are things to take with us from the last game but also that we would like to give more attention to.

"We always need to respect the opponent. Tottenham has a lot of confidence and the start of the game will be crucial for us. We need to start in a strong way."

  4. 'Hasegawa one of best midfielders, but needs to grow'published at 19:27 BST

Tottenham v Man City (19:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Andree Jeglertz said midfielder Yui Hasegawa is already one of the best midfielders in the world but still has room to improve.

Hasegawa scored the winning goal in City's comeback win over Brighton last week and Jeglertz believes the Japan international will get even better as she improves relationships with her teammates on the pitch.

"Yui is an extremely intelligent and skilful player," Jeglertz said.

"I always think it is difficult. How do you say which one is the best in the world? I think she can definitely be, and she already is, one of the best midfielders.

"But with that said, there are still parts she needs to grow. It also depends on her teammates. She is a good player but she benefits from having great players around her, who give her possibilities to have a little bit of a freer role and can support her.

"She also needs to adapt to other players. Those relationships will grow throughout the season but there are a lot of things that have already come far. I still think there are parts that need to be developed according to the relationships with other players."

  6. Coming up tonight...published at 19:24 BST

We've got two games taking place this evening, with both kicking off at 19:30 BST.

London City continue their search for their first points in the top flight as they travel to Everton.

Manchester City are away at Spurs.

  7. 'Tandberg like an old school number nine'published at 19:23 BST

Tottenham v Man City (19:30 BST)

    Ellen White
England Euro 2022 winner on BBC Women's Football Weekly

Cathinka Tandberg is like an old school number nine. She has got the physical presence, she'll back into the centre half, she wants to hold the ball up and bring others into play and help with the build-up.

She wants to get in the box, she is good in the air and I think she is a really exciting signing.

She has only had two or three weeks of training and she seems like a really nice girl who is down to earth and has settled in really well at Spurs.

I'm excited to see how she fares especially when they play the likes of Man City, Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea, how she fares against those types of centre halves.

  8. How things standpublished at 19:21 BST

London City are currently bottom of the WSL, having had a tough start to life in the top flight as they lost both of their opening two games.

Everton and Manchester City have both won one game.

Tottenham are fourth having won both of their first two matches.

  9. 'Need to wait until Christmas to evaluate London City'published at 19:19 BST

Everton v London City (19:30 BST)

    Ellen White
England Euro 2022 winner on BBC Women's Football Weekly

I think for them it's just about gaining more connections, being more compact, having more stability through the lines. I think Jocelyn Precheur still needs to figure out his best teams. He has a lot of players so it's about what works well for them and what formation works well. I felt really gutted for them with that penalty.

They've come into this and played Arsenal and Manchester United. I think, for us, we need to look at them at Christmas. They would have played pretty much every team in the WSL by then and I think then we'll know where they stand and whether they've picked up enough points.

  10. 'How will London City's experienced heads deal with defeats?'published at 19:16 BST

Everton v London City (19:30 BST)

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland defender on BBC Women's Football Weekly

I'm wondering how are the conversations going internally now with those players who aren't used to losing and are used to playing with top teams that win trophies, that win leagues and lose very few games in a season.

They've just lost two back-to-back. I'd be so intrigued to see if they're still remaining to be positive in those moments.

This will be quite a rare experience for a lot of these players and I hope they're holding onto a lot of these moments like a really unlucky penalty, a huge offside, holding onto the positive moments in these games.

When you're not used to losing it's a very difficult space to be in when all of a sudden you're like 'how do we turn this around?'.

  11. 'Points will come because we have the talent'published at 19:13 BST

Everton v London City Lionesses (19:30 BST)

    London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses boss Jocelyn Precheur said expected a difficult start to the Women's Super League season and has to be patient as his side adapts to the top flight.

Precheur's side have lost their opening two games and have conceded nine goals against tough opposition in Arsenal and Manchester United.

"If we look at last season, we can’t be surprised to have a tough start in the WSL," Precheur said.

"I mean, everything is normal. We give ourselves the best possible chance with all the resources we need. We brought many new players but we cannot have the advantages only. It means we will have a struggle and a more difficult beginning, for sure.

"The only thing is to keep improving our dynamic. At the beginning it is difficult for us but in some parts it makes sense. I’m not someone who is very patient at the beginning but I have to be because I cannot ask any more of my players at the moment. Everyone is working very hard.

"Everyone is really focused and their commitment is really impressive. We need to keep this energy and this dynamic. It can only be better. The most important thing is to do better than the last game against Manchester United. Points will come because we have the talent we need."

  12. 'There's no secret to our success'published at 19:10 BST

Tottenham v Man City 19:30 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Martin Ho speaking to Sky Sports: "I think there is no secret to what we are doing. We have a clear framework of how we want to play and we have put that in place and we look really organised. It has allowed us to defend more collectively and individually we can be good too.

"Every game is tough and we know Bunny Shaw is a wonderful player. We need to focus on how we nullify her strengths. I believe we can stop the threat but we need to be focused for the full 90 minutes."

On Tottenham's 40-year anniversary: "Forty years is a long time and the people who founded it deserve a lot of credit. They have enabled a pathway for the young girls and women to play and coach in this team. I think it is important we celebrate that as a club."

  13. How have these sides fared so far?published at 19:07 BST

We are set to begin the third WSL weekend of the season, with two games tonight.

London City Lionesses have endured a difficult start to their first-ever WSL campaign, succumbing to 4-1 and 5-1 losses to Arsenal and Manchester United. They are looking for their first point of the new season tonight on Merseyside.

In the capital, Tottenham host Manchester City, with the Lilywhites winning both of their matches so far. Victory tonight would lift them to the top of the table, before Sunday's matches are played.

Their visitors also gained three points last weekend, winning 2-1 against Brighton. That victory followed a 2-1 defeat by reigning champions Chelsea on the opening day.
