GOAL - ASEAN All-Stars 1-0 Man Utdpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 28 May

    Maung Maung Lwin (71 mins)

    Ah...

Manchester United are picked apart by a beautiful piece of play.

Adrian Segecic threads the ball through for Maung Maung Lwin who cutely fires beyond Tom Heaton to give the hosts the lead.

    That's a goal he won't forget in a hurry.

A deft touch from Bruno Fernandes to lay the ball to Chido Obi draws a reaction from the crowd.

The move fails to develop any further.

Bruno Fernandes wins the ball on the halfway line and injects a bit of tempo to the game.

It's worked forward to Amad Diallo, who picks out Chido Obi but the striker dwells on the ball and fails to get a shot away.

Unlike the first-half, it's all one-way traffic now.

It wouldn't be a non-competitive out of season game involving a big Premier League team if we didn't get a Mexican wave at some point.

I have been at pre-season matches where they have started them after half an hour, so I guess we have done quite well today.

The Mexican wave is currently rippling around the stadium.

That tells you everything you need to know about the quality of this game.

Chido Obi is the latest to get a half-sight at goal until defender Irfan Fandi wrestles him out of the way.

Bruno Fernandes just sent a superb volley fizzing over the bar. That got the crowd to its feet and making noise just then. I am pretty sure the supporters are enjoying their evening.

In the days when the '39th game' was a thing, Malaysia was one of the potential venues that would have hosted games.

It all went quiet amid the uproar the idea caused. However, Fifa have backed away from a legal flight and I don't think we are that far away from overseas league matches taking place somewhere. The Premier League won't be the first to trial it but if it proves popular, expect them to jump on board.

Alejandro Garnacho looks to be through on goal as he chops away from a defender but he turns to see the flag raised for offside.

Replays show it was the wrong call - Garnacho was clearly on.

    VAR anyone?

An hour gone in Kuala Lumpur and we're still waiting for the breakthrough.

The chances have flowed more freely in this second half, though, with Manchester United creating the majority.

Harrison Delbridge heads away the corner but it's only as far as the unmarked Bruno Fernandes on the edge of the box.

The Portugal midfielder takes it on the volley and it's blazed over the bar.

Amad Diallo is looking bright down the right.

The Ivory Coast winger slows to walking pace before crossing and winning a corner.

Jonny Evans is another player to have been introduced for Manchester United.

Evans got a great reception from the Old Trafford faithful after Sunday's final game of the season. His second stint at the club is set to come to an end in the coming weeks.

The defender works it forward for Bruno Fernandes, who is a bit too ambitious with his ball aimed at Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentina forward received a huge cheer when he first go the ball and went on a run down the Manchester United left.

The dust has barely settled on the 2024-25 season but Manchester United have already started planning for the next campaign.

Manchester United have met the terms of Matheus Cunha's £62.5m release clause and have been given permission by Wolves to speak to the Brazil forward.

Wolves earlier rejected United's proposal to pay the fee over five years.

United will be required to pay the full fee for the 26-year-old in three instalments over a two-year period.

They now have permission to conclude a deal with Cunha and set up a medical, with the transfer expected to be completed quickly.

Cunha has made 92 appearances since arriving at Wolves, initially on loan, from Atletico Madrid in January 2023, scoring 33 goals for the club.
