I'm expecting a raft of substitutions when the second half resumes... I'll do my best to get those all confirmed.

That situation with Ruben Loftus-Cheek was an interesting one.

Chelsea played New England Revolution in a charity friendly in the USA in 2019.

That game took place after the conclusion of the Premier League season but just 13 days before Chelsea were set to face Arsenal in the final of the Europa League.

At least Manchester United have waited until after their European final to play friendlies.

I remember when Chelsea had a similar after season friendly game. Loftus-cheek just had his best season and was destined for great things. He got injured in the friendly and tired his ACL, never got back to his beastly best. Hoping for the players sake they avoid injury.

One of my English colleagues just asked if there was extra-time and penalties.

I have to admit, I don't know. I am pretty sure there will be no extra-time but penalties is certainly a possibility.

    That's it for the first-half.

A couple of decent chances at either end but nothing to show.

I mentioned a bit earlier about Reece Munro having an opportunity to impress. Well substitutes Shea Lacey and Jaydan Kamason have caught the eye since they came on.

A double chance for Manchester United as we close in on half-time.

Rasmus Hojlund has it taken off his toe at the near post after fine work out wide by Jaydan Kamason.

Hojlund collects the loose ball and lays it off to Patrick Dorgu but his shot is blocked.

Bounphachan Bounkong is the first player to come off the bench for the ASEAN All-Stars with Abdel Kader Coulibaly going off.

Where are the goals we were hoping for in this post-season friendly?

To be fair, a quick check of ASEAN All-Stars' history suggests it was false hope.

They have played one game previously back in 2014 and it ended in a 1-0 loss against Indonesia with an own goal deciding the result...

  10. CLOSE!published at 39 mins

Kobbie Mainoo almost finds the breakthrough.

The midfielder, who was handed the captain's armband when Harry Maguire went off, volleys from eight yards and it's kept out by what looked to be the chest of a defender.

There has been an improvement from the Red Devils since those four changes were made.

Kobbie Mainoo strikes from range. It's not the cleanest shot but Patiwat Khammai looks a little uneasy as he gets down to tip it behind for a corner.

The resulting set-piece is overhit and out for a thrown-in on the far side.

Manuel Ugarte made a decent block before but got up holding his hand.

He seems to have shrugged the problem off but he won't be wanting to pick up an injury.

He has a World Cup qualifier for Uruguay in Paraguay next Thursday.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 32 mins

I mentioned we might see wholesale changes at the break but Ruben Amorim isn't even waiting that long.

Jack Moorhouse, Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Harry Maguire head off.

Sekou Kone, Jaydan Kamason, Dan Armer, Shea Lacey are the quartet introduced.

  14. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

Another big opportunity for the ASEAN All-Stars.

Sandro Reyes drills a shot low across goal and Andre Onana can only parry back into play where it's eventually cleared away.

Ruben Amorim might make 11 changes at half-time but if he doesn't then those players who do return for the second-half will need a change of shift at the very least.

    They are dripping with sweat.

    A reminder that it's 31 degrees with 73% humidity.

The ASEAN All-Stars hit on the counter and a mazy run from Sandro Reyes leads to a shot which is charged down.

Another smirk on the face of Harry Maguire as he gets a ticking off from the referee after a bit of jostling with Amani Aguinaldo as they wait for a corner to be delivered.

The set-piece doesn't lead to anything.

Slow build-up from Manchester United as they try to drag the ASEAN All-Stars one way and then the other.

Casemiro eventually looks to pull the trigger with a more incisive ball but it's overcooked and straight through to Patiwat Khammai.

I'm not sure Khammai has made a save yet - just collected a couple of crosses.

  19. Reece Munro will learn from today's matchpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 28 May

    ASEAN All-Stars 0-0 Man Utd

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport chief football news reporter in Malaysia

Ruben Amorim used Ayden Heaven as an example of a young player who has surprised him after being given his chance earlier in the season.

Sir Alex Ferguson always used to say you never knew which youngsters would deliver when asked.

Eighteen-year-old Reece Munro has forged an impressive reputation at youth level. But tonight, against experienced players, with a huge crowd - compared to the hundreds he is used to - and the sticky conditions, it will be a different test completely.

Amani Aguinaldo is the latest to have a pop with his shot flying over the bar after Abdel Kader Coulibaly had initially misjudged his header.
