Falkirk trail Premier Sports Cup Group A leaders Spartans after beating Cove Rangers on penalties following a 0-0 draw.

With no breakthrough in 90 minutes, Cove and the Bairns each took a point and Falkirk secured a bonus point by winning the shootout 4-2.

Goalkeeper Scott Bain made saves to deny Declan Glass and Liam Parker as Falkirk netted all four of their spot-kicks.

Spartans have six points but have played one game more.

Falkirk have two group games left to play, both at home, against Queen's Park on Tuesday (19:45) and Spartans next Saturday (15:00).
