    Glodis Perla Viggosdottir (Bayern Munich)

But Manuela Zinsberger can't do anything about Bayern Munich's equaliser.

England's Georgia Stanway is heavily involved in the build-up, with a fine cross to the back post. Glodis Perla Viggosdottir rises superbly, heads at the goal and, with Zinsberger rooted to the spot, the ball goes into the net off the underside of the crossbar.

    Bayern Munich 0-1 Arsenal

Klara Buhl is able to send a free-kick into the Arsenal penalty area, but the Gunners have defended superbly so far and clear the danger well.

The Germans come again though, this time Giulia Gwinn with a powerful shot from a tight angle after Pernille Harder's ball around the corner.

The strike is straight at Manuela Zinsberger and she gets two hands to it, but pushes the ball up not out, but she gets away with it.

    Mariona Caldentey

Arsenal ahead. A fine goal this one.

Katie McCabe is forward on the left wing and she crosses, Mariona Caldentey has gained some space in the penalty area, meets the cross with a controlled volley and does well to guide it into the net.

    Lovely finish.

Eidevall really needs to win something this season. Arsenal have given him everything. A great squad, matches at the Emirates, probably the largest supporter base in the WSL yet he has consistently underdelivered. The club bought him Russo yet he plays Blackstenius. In my opinion, if he doesn’t win something this season he should go.

Giulia Gwinn for Bayern needs some treatment after going over on her ankle in a challenge with Caitlin Foord. No card for the Arsenal player and after a bit of medical attention, Gwinn limps to the sidelines before coming back on.

A clever backheel looks to release Arsenal's Stina Blackstenius on goal, but she can't beat Maria Luisa Grohs, only for the assistant's flag to be raised for offside anyway.

Already more effort away at dominant Bayern than at home against bottom of the table Everton.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal get a corner on the right and Katie McCabe's delivery is a poor one, however the Germans make a mess of it at the near post and fail to clear. Luckily for the hosts they are able to get to the loose ball before an Arsenal player can put the ball into the net.

This has been a decent spell for the Gunners.

Caitlin Foord is again involved for Arsenal. She skips down the left wing after collecting the ball from Katie McCabe, gets to the byeline, nutmegs a defender and gets a low shot away from 10 yards out but can only drag it wide of goal. Good skill and a good move, though.

Good work from Caitlin Foord, who progresses forwards, and it needs three Bayern players to clear the danger, which they finally do after the ball bounces around the penalty area.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Arsenal

A first chance for Arsenal. They win a free-kick on the right side 35 yards out. Katie McCabe floats in a cross left footed and defender Laia Codina meets it at full stretch to divert it goalwards.

But there's not too much power on the connection and Maria Luisa Grohs falls to her left to make a routine save.

Katie McCabe tries to make progress down the left flank for Arsenal but her pass down the line is cut out by Bayern's Glodis Perla Viggosdottir.

Bayern are looking positive and provide a cross from the right. England captain Leah Williamson heads it out of the penalty area, only for it to fall to Lionesses team-mate Georgia Stanway.

She tries her luck from 25 yards out and it would have crept under the crossbar but Manuela Zinsberger in the Gunners goal does well to leap up and catch the ball above her head.

Former Chelsea forward Pernille Harder looks to cause problems for the Arsenal defence. She makes her way to the edge of the penalty area, but is crowded out and can't provide either a key pass or a shot at goal.

The Bayern v Arsenal match last year was held at the Allianz Arena, where Bayern's men's side play, but today it's the much, much smaller training ground at the Bayern Campus which hosts this game.

Bayern Munich v Arsenal (17:45 BST)

After missing out on the Champions League last season, Arsenal qualified for the group stages again by overturning a first-leg deficit to see off Swedish side Hacken, winning 4-0 at Meadow Park.

With Juventus also in Group C, boss Jonas Eidevall knows Arsenal will face a stern test of their European credentials.

“We start against a really tough opponent, a top European team, but this is what we want to be in the Champions League for – we want to play against the best so we are looking forward to it,” Eidevall said.

“Bayern are well organised, a good team – but so are we, and while they have strengths, they will also have weaknesses, and we need to exploit them.

“If we are going to be successful, we will need to have both parts in our game – we need to continue to play really good defence, but then also have really good attacking plays.”

  19. Walti keen for Arsenal 'to bounce back' after Everton disappointment'published at 17:39 British Summer Time 9 October

Bayern Munich v Arsenal (17:45 BST)

Arsenal midfielder Lia Walti feels the Bayern game gives the players the chance to quickly put Sunday’s frustrating draw behind them.

“When you have a disappointing result like against Everton, you just want to bounce back as soon as you can,” she said.

“That is a positive thing about these quick turnarounds, that we have another chance.

“We know about the quality of this team, and we all are really, really motivated to prove to fans and everybody that we can do better.”

The Champions League is another level. Bayern are another level. They’re coming off the back of winning the Bundesliga, they’re unbeaten this season, so they’re going to be full of confidence.

Maybe they’ll also be looking for a bit of revenge after being knocked out by Arsenal [in the quarter-finals] a couple of seasons ago.

It’s going to be a really interesting game, but Arsenal have to step up another level now.
