That can only be described as a really poor strike from Tielemans. You can see what he's doing, he's trying to give the goalkeeper the eyes and he's trying to close his foot on it, snap it down into the near post - gets it all wrong.

He lays it off into the path of the onrushing Youri Tielemans and we know he can strike a ball from range. Not this time though, he gets it wrong and the ball dribbles harmlessly wide.

Villa are pushing to finish this one off early on. Ollie Watkins is again involved, he plays a square pass to Morgan Rogers and he looks to test Peter Gulacsi from 20 yards, but the home keeper is well placed and can get his body behind the effort to make a comfortable save.

All in all, Arne Slot can do what he wants in the last couple of games now. The hard work has been done.
I thought Slot's transition would be seamless but I have been surprised by the results.
To go away and beat Bayer Leverkusen and other teams then beat them comfortably, that has been surprising.

RB Leipzig and Aston Villa have never previously faced each other in Europe. However, the German side have lost each of their last four matches against English sides in the UEFA Champions League, while conceding 14 goals in those four games.
This will be Aston Villa’s first away game against a German opponent in Europe since December 2008, in a 1-3 defeat to Hamburg in the UEFA Cup. Meanwhile, their last one in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League was in October 1981, in a 2-1 victory over Berliner FC Dynamo.
RB Leipzig have lost each of their last five UEFA Champions League matches, all of which have been this season. If they lose here, it will be their longest ever losing streak in the competition, and the longest by a German side overall since Bayer Leverkusen in March 2003 (7).
