Reflecting on Luton's 4-3 home defeat by Arsenal in December, boss Rob Edwards said: "Their defence is pretty stubborn, they don't give much away. It was a bit of a unique game, sometimes it can be at Kenilworth Road. Since the break around January time, [Arsenal] have come back and been incredible. I know they didn't score on the weekend but they are scoring loads of goals and they are very, very difficult to break down.

"If we are able to go and score three at the Emirates then we're doing pretty well. We will try to be us and be the best version of us.

"It's difficult at the moment but, yeah, the last one was a really exciting game. We are going to be lower [on the field] this time, we know that. They are so good with the ball they are going to force us low and defend really well. We can do a lot of work on that."

Before we hear from Luton manager Rob Edwards, here's a prickly Pep Guardiola giving a sarcastic reply when asked about talking to his players on the field. Jack Grealish was the latest target of one of the, let's say demonstrative, chats with the Manchester City boss.

  3. England Under-20s should have protected Arblaster - Wilderpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 2 April

Liverpool v Sheff Utd (Thu, 19:30 BST)

    Sheffield United

Ollie Arblaster capped a memorable few days by making his first Premier League home start in Sheffield United's 3-3 draw against Fulham on Saturday, four days after scoring for England's Under-20s.

The 19-year-old midfielder played for all of a 3-1 win in the Czech Republic, four days after coming off the bench as England's Under-20s won 5-1 in Poland.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said: "He played the whole 90 minutes and I was delighted he got a cap. But I'd like to think he'd be protected a little bit more given everyone knew he was going to make his home Premier League debut at the weekend, which is quite a big thing for his local club and the club that he loves.

"He enjoys playing for his country as well and that was maybe a reason he was flagging towards the end of the game.

"Emotionally, I know what it does to you and takes out of you but I thought his performance, especially second half, was one of our better performances with the ball.

"I'm not happy that he played the full game, it could have been managed better. After making his full debut for his hometown club, that's an enormous amount of football and a lot of travelling as well, but he can be delighted with his contribution."

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has confirmed that right-back George Baldock will be out for six weeks after getting injured on international duty with Greece.

Wilder hopes he will return before the end of the season, when he says the Blades will try to agree a new contract with the 31-year-old.

"We've got a lot of talking to do, and he'll have options as well," said the Blades boss.

"He's a player we've really enjoyed working with and hopefully we 'll have that opportunity again."

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi on the challenge posed by Thomas Frank's side: "In this season Brentford have suffered with injuries, [Ivan] Toney suspension. They are a very good team with a very good coach. I have big respect for [Thomas] Frank.

"Liverpool are winning the Premier League but in terms of level of difficulty tomorrow for us is the same more or less. It's another tough game and to get points away we have to play one of the best games of the season."

More from Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi on his future: "It's not a problem, it's a part of my work. At the moment I want to be focused and to keep my eyes on the target we have. I have the contract at the moment. The focus is on the pitch.

"I'm very relaxed and without problems. The problems are the injured players and the preparations for the next game. These are the problems not the contract or my future."

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi was asked about the future of striker Danny Welbeck, who scored a fine goal in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Liverpool: "Danny is enjoying his best period under my time. He is important for the young players, the dressing room.

"Great player, great guy. We have to keep him with us for a lot of years. We want to keep him".

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi offered an injury update before Wednesday's trip to Brentford: "We have a lot of injured players but we have still a great team.

"Joao Pedro played in an under-21s friendly on Saturday and did well. He can play tomorrow but it's not clear for how many minutes.

    "[Julio] Enciso is similar."

De Zerbi also confirmed Jack Hinshelwood will not play again this season, calling him a "big miss".

  10. Sutton's Premier League predictionspublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 2 April

Man City v Aston Villa (20:15 BST)

Manchester City badge and Aston Villa badge

I thought some of the criticism of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland after Sunday's draw with Arsenal was well over the top.

It is not Haaland's fault City did not create enough opportunities for him - it is down to players such as Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva to make those chances.

To compare Haaland to a League Two player, which is how Roy Keane described him on Sky, is just ridiculous.

It doesn't matter who gets the goals against Aston Villa, but City cannot allow the gap to leaders Liverpool to get any bigger than three points.

Villa will make it tough for them and carry plenty of attacking threat themselves, but this is a must-win for Pep Guardiola's side... and I think they will win.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-1.

Jimmy's prediction: Nothing doing for Villa here! City will go 2-0 up, Villa will pull one back and push for an equaliser but then City will wrap it up with a third late on when Villa leave themselves wide open. 3-1.

I'm no Man City fan, I don't especially enjoy watching them or tika taka football in general. Jurgen Klopp with his Gegenpressing has brought some of the most exciting football to the PL I've ever seen (and I'm actually a Man United fan). But whilst Liverpool and Arsenal can raise their game and on any given day beat anyone, that's great for winning cups. City are relentless, flat track bullies who almost always beat the teams they are expected to which over the course of a season makes them very hard to beat.

Finally from Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City boss was asked about speaking passionately to his players on the field after games - as he did with Jack Grealish on Sunday - and he gave a somewhat sarcastic reply.

"I do it for the cameras, for my ego," he said. "I'm the famous person of the team, if it's on camera then I can sleep because I have incredible satisfaction.

"Always I try to criticise the players and let them feel how bad they are, and any compliments are always with me, not the players."

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi on speculation surrounding his future: "At this moment you are asking me a lot of times if I am leaving but I am still proud to be coach at Brighton.

"I know I am really lucky to work with these players, to work with this club. I'd like to compete with a full squad but I try to play with the players available and I think they are enough."

On Brazil midfielder Douglas Luiz, who left Manchester City for Aston Villa in 2019, City boss Pep Guardiola said: "Because of a [lack of] work permit, it was not possible [for him] to be with us. He had to make steps so he went [on loan] to Girona and now he's settled perfectly at Villa, so I'm happy for him. He's playing really well."

Man City v Aston Villa (Wed, 20:15 BST)

    Manchester City

On Manchester City's experience of successful title run-ins, boss Pep Guardiola said: "It's just winning games, that's what we have to do. We have not many chances to drop points. Aston Villa are playing to qualify for the Champions League, every team plays for something, so the last few games will be difficult to manage.

"Our experience [of strong finishes] is over, it doesn't count. What counts is Aston Villa. Being able to win lots of games in a row before, I don't know how many [we can win] now. The only thing is how to beat Aston Villa."

On Aston Villa under boss Unai Emery, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola added: "[It's] excellent, the way they play. Unai Emery has consistency every season. They've been impressive. It's no surprise, the quality of him, his management and the team.

"I haven't watched all their games but I think they'll play with the same system and ideas.

"They're good on set-pieces and in transition, with two quick players up front. They have a strong backline and an exceptional goalkeeper. That's why they are where they are."

On City's 1-0 defeat at Villa Park in December: "It's the only one where yes, yes, yes, we deserved to lose."

How many goals has Erling Haaland scored for City that have genuinely made a difference e.g an equalizer from a losing position or turning a draw into a lead; not just scoring when City are already ahead? And, more importantly how many times has he done this against the Premier League's top 4-6 or in a knockout match? If we could have these stats then maybe we can end the debate on whether he is just the world's greatest flat track bully or truly something more special.
