Match Facts
Crvena zvezda and Stuttgart have never previously faced in European competition, although this is the second consecutive UEFA Champions League campaign in which Crvena Zvezda have faced a German opponent (lost twice to RB Leipzig in 2023-24).
This will be just the second time Stuttgart have faced a Serbian opponent in Europe, with the previous one being a 2-0 win over Partizan Belgrade in the 2008-09 UEFA Cup (group stage), in which Mario Gómez netted both goals.
Following their victory against Juventus on MD3, Stuttgart will be looking to record consecutive away wins for the first time ever in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League.
Crvena zvezda have lost each of their last eight matches in the UEFA Champions League. Across the last decade, only three teams have suffered a longer winless run in the competition: Maccabi Haifa in 2022 (9), Marseille in 2020 (13) and Dinamo Zagreb in 2016 (11).
Across the first four matchdays of this season’s UEFA Champions League, Crvena zvezda have been behind on the scoreboard for longer than any other team (306 minutes). Indeed, they’ve trailed for 77% of their total match time in the current edition of the tournament, and not been ahead at any point.
Stuttgart are the side who’ve been drawing for the highest percentage of their match time in the UEFA Champions League this season (72%), while finding themselves ahead for just 8% of those minutes (trailed for 20%).
No team has used fewer different players in the UEFA Champions League this season than Stuttgart (18 – along with Paris Saint-Germain), with seven players starting all four matches so far (Undav, Karazor, Millot, Rouault, Mittelstädt, Stiller and Nübel).
Enzo Millot is the only Stuttgart player to have been directly involved in multiple goals in the UEFA Champions League this season (2 – one goal, one assist), while he also leads all players for the German side for chances created from open play (9) and completed dribbles (8).
Milson has scored in both of his appearances for Crvena zvezda in the UEFA Champions League this season, with both goals arriving in substitute appearances. The last time a player scored more in a single campaign for the club in the European Cup/Champions League was in 1991-92 (Darko Pancev 6, Sinisa Mihajlovic 4 and Milorad Ratkovic 3).
Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller has made the most line-breaking passes while under high-intensity pressure of any midfielder in the UEFA Champions League this season (29). Overall, Stiller is one of only two midfielders to have completed 300+ passes in the opening four rounds this term (309), along with Joshua Kimmich (366).
