Bologna scored their first ever goal in the Champions League but were still beaten at home by Lille.
The visitors opened the scoring just before half-time through midfielder Ngal'ayel Mukau, who scored with a composed right-footed finish after an effort with his left was blocked.
After 63 minutes of their fifth Champions League match, Jhon Lucumi scored for the hosts, turning in a wide free-kick to level.
But, just three minutes later, Lille went back in front through 20-year-old Belgian Mukau and ultimately held on for a deserved win.
Bologna, in their debut Champions League campaign, have lost four and drawn one of their European matches this season.
Lille are 12th in the league phase table with three wins from five.
