Conor McAleny's goal was only his second of the season for Salford

Salford secured back-to-back home wins with a controlled performance guiding them to victory over Notts County.

The lively Conor McAleny took advantage of a defensive mix-up to score Salford's first before Cole Stockton bagged a brace either side of the break to seal a convincing triumph.

Notts County's best chance came after 10 minutes when Alassana Jatta was played through on goal but home goalkeeper Matty Young stood firm to make a vital save.

A calamitous error from visiting keeper Alex Bass saw him gift possession to Ossama Ashley, who slipped the ball to McAleny and he slotted home the opener after 14 minutes.

McAleny then showed great skill to backheel the ball to Stockton, with the forward firing past Bass as the Ammies added a second after 31 minutes.

Salford further pressed home their dominance as Stockton netted again after 54 minutes.

Kelly Nmai had cut in from the left before seeing his shot saved by Bass but Stockton was on hand to place home the rebound for his seventh goal of the season.
