Someone should remind Rasmus Hojlund that Peter Crouch went so many games without scoring, but he kept going. Head up Rasmus!

Tottenham 1-0 AZ Alkmaar (1-1 agg)

Son Heung-min is heavily involved tonight. He runs at the away defence and tries to curl the ball into the net from 20 yards out, but it doesn't have enough pace and is easily dealt with.

    Chelsea 0-0 Copenhagen (2-1 agg)

Copenhagen have held their own so far and look most likely to score.

Cole Palmer is on the bench for Chelsea. Perhaps he will be needed to inject some life into the match.

Despite his medium and long-term struggles, Rasmus Hojlund has looked very good so far tonight. Looking sharp, strong and keeping both Real Sociedad centre-backs occupied. United need to get the ball into his feet and get runners off him.

We have got a goal now, but this was the first Europa League game this season not to see a single attempt on goal in the opening 20 minutes.

Joshua Zirkzee doesn't complicate it, Rasmus Hojlund is in a goal scoring position and he cannot get enough on it.

He is there, keep serving him!

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March

Man Utd 1-1 Real Sociedad (2-2 agg)

    So close for Manchester United!

It is brilliant by Joshua Zirkzee, the ball sticking to his foot like glue inside the box before he cuts it back for Rasmus Hojlund, whose first-time strike curls just wide of the far post.

Hojlund screams in frustration. He could barely have been much closer.

    Chelsea 0-0 Copenhagen (2-1 agg)

    Copenhagen continue to threaten.

A deep ball into the box is collected by Filip Jorgensen.

Chelsea are seriously lacking urgency and the home fans are starting to get restless.

  12. 'Really intelligent play from Spurs'published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March

Tottenham 1-0 AZ Alkmaar (1-1 agg)

    Joe Hart

That's a massive blow to AZ. That is the counter press we're talking about, never giving up, getting the crowd up.

It's a really good finish from Wilson Odobert and really intelligent play from Spurs - just what they deserve.

    Excellent finish on the run.

Man Utd are looking better here, there’s more drive and intent. Definitely potential to take this one.

    GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 AZ Alkmaar (1-1 agg)published at 27 mins

    Wilson Odobert

    And it's level on aggregate.

All credit to Son Heung-min, he closes down AZ defender Wouter Goes on the left and produces a vital block to get the ball, it drops for Dominic Solanke and he in turn lays it off for Wilson Odobert, who hits it first time into the top of the net.

After a bit of a nervous start this has developed into a very decent Manchester United performance as we approach the half hour mark. Passing is quick and crisp and the players look really up for it.

Man Utd 1-1 Real Sociedad (2-2 agg)

    Dion Dublin

What Manchester United fans are happy with is the speed that Man Utd are moving the ball.

It's a simple game and Man Utd are better when they keep it simple.

Enzo Maresca has plenty to say to his team.

They have been below par in the opening 25 minutes.

Gabriel Pereira is fine and the game is back under way.

  19. 'Van de Ven is an explosive athlete'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March

Tottenham 0-0 AZ Alkmaar (0-1 agg)

    Joe Hart

Micky Van de Ven is such an explosive athlete. When he's fit, he's such a help for this Tottenham team.

Tottenham 0-0 AZ Alkmaar (0-1 agg)

AZ Alkmaar are on about 27% of possession and are sitting deep and in numbers. Son Heung-min floats a ball into their box from deep on the left but good decisive goalkeeper from Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro as he comes off his line to punch the ball away.
