    Man City 2-0 Leicester

Incidentally that second goal for Bunny Shaw has taken her back to the top of the WSL scoring charts.

So that's just the seven goals and 1 assist in eight games played so far this season.

You'd be a brave person to bet against her claiming a third consecutive Golden Boot this year.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool

Another double change for the away side.

Grace Fisk and Mia Enderby are hooked, with Niamh Fahey and Yana Daniels sent on by Matt Beard.

The United players are unhappy with some rough treatment from Liverpool today.

Celin Bizet is chopped down by Taylor Hinds, then spreads her arms wide on seeing that Hinds has escaped a card.

  5. Postpublished at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

Hayley Raso has a clear sight at goal after Lucy Hope takes an unfortunate tumble, but Courtney Brosnan is equal to Raso's powerful drive and pushes it out for a corner. Everton are really struggling to get out.

Bunny Shaw is so powerful in the air. As soon as that cross comes in you know she's getting on the end of it.

A shame for Leicester, they were having their best spell.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool

United are looking more likely to score next.

Grace Clinton fires from the edge of the D, and Teagan Micah has to go full stretch to her right to palm the shot away.

  8. Postpublished at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

It's all Tottenham now. The hosts believe they can put this beyond Everton before the break and have wasted no time in going after a quick-fire second.

Pitifully low attendance for a Man Utd v Liverpool game. As I’ve said before, there’s no hope in growing the women’s game as long as the organisers are so keen to keep the WSL a closed shop for three teams at the top.

Maya Le Tissier and Ceri Holland go shoulder to shoulder, and Le Tissier gets to the ball first - yet she concedes a free kick.

The United captain is unhappy, and talks herself into a yellow card.

    Khadija Shaw (29 mins)

A second goal for Khadija Shaw.

In almost a carbon copy of the first goal, albeit this time from the left hand side, the Jamaican rises highest in the box to nod home a wonderful cross.

She runs to thank Leila Ouahabi who put it in the perfect area at the back post for her to attack.

  12. Postpublished at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

Another moment of promise for Leicester as Missy Goodwin darts down the left and dinks a cross into the middle.

They are just lacking that bit of quality and cohesion in the final third at the minute.

    Bethany England (25 mins)

    Breakthrough!

Tottenham play a corner short and Everton can't deal with Jessica Naz's brilliant ball into the six-yard box before Bethany England, having missed a few headed opportunities already, smashes in to put the home side ahead.

  14. Postpublished at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

Leicester take the chance to launch a rare foray forward through Saori Takarada.

She collects the ball on the wing and drives forward with it, but her attempt to return it to Nicole Momiki is cut out by Alex Greenwood.

  15. 'Liverpool must buy players in January'published at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool

    Natasha Dowie
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

There was a lot of hype around Liverpool this season after the campaign they had last time. But injuries have affected them.

They will need to address it during the January transfer window. They need to bring in more players and make this squad a bit deeper. They also need to get those injured players back to fitness.

Celin Bizet thought she might have to come on to help seal victory for United but Dominique Janssen seems to have done that. It means Bizet has more of a licence to attack and express herself.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Changes now for United.

Celin Bizet replaces Geyse, and Leah Galton makes way for Melvine Malard.

Tottenham remain on top for now but Everton are weathering the storm.

After a couple of unconvincing moments in the early stages, its Spurs who are now knocking the ball around with confidence and Bethany England is beginning to find pockets of space as the hosts search for an opener.

  19. Postpublished at 13:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

Alex Greenwood attempts a low cross into the box from a wide free kick but Courtney Nevin clears at the first opportunity.

In fairness to Leicester they have been quite resolute since the opener and have limited their hosts to possession near the halfway line and a handful of crosses.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2024

    Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool

Jaz Matthews is replaced by Jenna Clark for Liverpool, while Cornelia Kapocs makes way for Leanne Kiernan.

Clark scored the winner for Liverpool against United in May, but I doubt we will see a repeat today.
