Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

The third goal was coming for Manchester United. They've had a few opportunities and Liverpool have been throwing bodies on the line.

But it's a great finish from Dominique Janssen and there was not much that Teagan Micah could have done there.

  2. Postpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

The Manchester wind seems to be playing havoc with the television cameras at the moment.

Nothing much has changed in terms of the game itself though as Man City continue to be in total control of matters.

  3. 'Liverpool want to build right way'published at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

    Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool

    Natasha Dowie
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool will want this team to win trophies. They want to build the team the right way. They are a big football club and there is money there for investment.

They moved into a new training facility and now they've invested in a new stadium. Over the next few years, it will be about building that squad to challenge for titles and it will take time.

But you can see that the women's team a business that the club takes seriously. They really want to help this team grow.

    Game over.

Liverpool half-clear a United cross and Janssen calmly steers her left-footed shot from the edge of the box into the far bottom corner.

Janssen's first goal of the season, and one which surely wraps the three points up.

  5. CLOSE!published at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

    Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool

United so close to a killer third goal.

Grace Clinton wins the ball high, and feeds Elisabeth Terland. The striker seems certain to finish, but Gemma Bonner slides across to make a superb block.

Great forward play from Aoba Fujino.

The winger broke free downfield and looked to slide a reverse pass into Khadija Shaw but she was shoved over in the process.

The home side could not make the most of the resulting free kick.

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

A neat turn and shot from Jessica Naz on the edge of the Everton penalty area, but she's being followed closely and her attempt is blocked.

The Tottenham pressure continues to build but the ball just won't drop for Bethany England, who is unable to bring a pass under control and then heads wide from Ashleigh Neville's follow-up cross.

Nobody's made more saves in the top-flight this season than Janina Leitzig, but the Leicester keeper was caught out there. She got away with one.

Also, Mary Fowler meant to cross it. I won't be told otherwise.

    Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at Leigh Sports Village

Liverpool have definitely come out stronger in the second half and Marc Skinner looks a bit concerned.

He's just gestured to Celin Bizet and Melvine Malard to join Rachel Williams in warming up.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

Another free-flowing move down the right ends in a rasping cross from Mary Fowler that comes back off the upright.

That was inches from going inside the near post.

Another excellent set-piece is delivered perfectly into the box by Eveliina Summanen, and this time Bethany England manages to meet it but sends her header well wide under pressure from Megan Finnigan.

We've seen a couple of superb deliveries already from Summanen. Spurs need to make the most of them.

Liverpool have started the second half the better of the two sides.

Mia Enderby's cross almost finds a team mate, but Jayde Riviere makes an excellent sliding stop.

  16. Postpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

Hannah Cain looks to be in behind after a neat passing move from Leicester but her progress is halted by the offside flag.

Some encouragement at least for the visitors.

  17. 'Liverpool not ruthless enough'published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

    Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool

    Natasha Dowie
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool have had their chances, but they've not been ruthless enough. That is what Matt Beard might be disappointed about with his team this season. At this level in the Women's Super League, you need to take your chances.

Eveliina Summanen whips in an inviting free-kick from deep but her team-mates fail to gamble and Courtney Brosnan grateful collects unchallenged.

    Too good, far too good.

It was brilliant initial play from Yui Hasegawa who played a perfect pass to send through Kerstin Casparij, overlapping on the right.

The City fans chant "feed the Bun and she will score". Got to be one of the S-tier WSL chants.
