Greenock Morton finished the Scottish Championship season - and a difficult few weeks - on a high as two early goals were enough to defeat Dunfermline Athletic.
Former Dunfermline youth Owen Moffat opened the scoring on the break after three minutes.
And, when Moffat was brought down four minutes later, fellow midfielder Grant Gillespie fired the second from the penalty spot.
The result means Morton finish the season in sixth, seven points off a play-off spot, after a disappointing week off the park.
Dougie Imrie's side were banned from signing new players or extending the contracts of their current squad by world governing body Fifa for what the Scottish Championship club claim was "an administration error".
Dunfermline finish seventh under current boss Neil Lennon, under whom they have won just twice in seven outings after the former Celtic manager was brought in with the remit of avoiding the drop.
