Tottenham captain Son Heung-min, speaking to TNT Sports: "It's nowhere near where we should perform. It was very disappointing that we performed like this, including me. It's a big wake up call because next week is the biggest game of the season.

"I really don't think there was too much caution. It's always tough to play away in the Europa League. We didn't create anything in the first half, sloppiness, not performing the way we should.

"Everyone is very disappointed about the individual performance and the team performance, we have to look at ourselves. There is no excuses, we were not good enough. It's just 1-0, it's still not finished, and next week we have to be much better."

It is a club in unrest - on and off the pitch.

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

They were lacklustre in their performance. But that's a better result for Tottenham than it is for AZ.

To play so mediocre and come home with just a one-goal deficit, they'll be happy with that. Not the performance, but the result.

I know this isn’t fashionable, but should we perhaps give Man Utd some credit for the draw? Difficult place to go and sets up the second leg nicely.

The Spurs players applaud their travelling supporters and youngster Lucas Bergvall holds his hands up in apology, perhaps because of that first-half own goal.

To be fair, he recovered well from that setback and made a couple of important blocks thereafter.

So it's victory for AZ in the first leg, with Lucas Bergvall's first-half own goal separating the sides.
