Good skill once more from Mary Fowler to spin away from her marker and she finds Khadija Shaw with her back to goal. She tries to escape a defender but can't as the away side clear with a bit of a panic. It's attack after attack from the hosts though.

Fowler, again instrumental once more. She's the conductor tonight. Her lofted ball finds Shaw, but she is blocked off and can't get a shot away.

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor has confirmed four of her first-team players have not travelled to Glasgow for Wednesday's Women's Champions League game against Celtic.

Kadeisha Buchanan, Millie Bright, Sjoeke Nusken and Mayra Ramirez have all stayed in London to manage their minutes.

"The squad is in a good place," Bompastor said. "We have a good dynamic and we are full of confidence.

"We have been playing a lot of games and this is a special week because we play three games. As a manager it’s important to manage some players. I have some players who didn’t travel to this game."

Erin Cuthbert said playing as much as she has for Chelsea was "beyond my wildest dreams".

The midfielder returns to Scotland on Wednesday as Chelsea face Celtic in the Women's Champions League.

The Scotland international played for Rangers and Glasgow City between 2013 and 2016 before making the move to Chelsea.

Cuthbert, 26, has made more than 130 appearances for Chelsea and is an integral part of Sonia Bompastor's squad.

On how she has developed since leaving Glasgow, Cuthbert said: "I left as a really young, naive 18-year-old girl who was just working in Morrisons and playing part-time.

"This was beyond my wildest dreams playing as much as I have for Chelsea. I feel really lucky and privileged but it’s never about being settled.

"It’s a moment to reflect on how far I have come, but also how much work I have still got to do. I am still learning, I still feel I have got more in my game, I still feel I have got more to come and I want to see where my ceiling is."

England will head to Portugal in their opening game of the 2025 Women's Nations League after Uefa announced the match schedule for the competition earlier today.

The Lionesses start their campaign with an away trip to the team ranked 22nd in the world in their first fixture of Group A3 on 21 February.

Sarina Wiegman's side then face World Cup holders, and Nations League champions, Spain in a highly anticipated fixture on home turf five days later.

Scotland travel to Austria in their first game in Group A1 before they host the Netherlands on matchday two.

Wales head to Italy for their opening encounter in Group A4 then have a home fixture with Sweden.

Northern Ireland begin Group B1 with a game in Poland and then host Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Trailblazing referee Rebecca Welch said she hopes "somebody else picks up the legacy" as she was inducted into the National Football Museum's Hall of Fame.

The 40-year-old made history in 2021 when she became the first woman to referee an EFL match, taking charge of Harrogate Town v Port Vale in League Two.

She later officiated in the Championship and the third round of the men's FA Cup before refereeing Fulham v Burnley in the Premier League at Craven Cottage in 2023.

Welch has now stepped away from on-field duties to take on a managerial role within PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) to support and develop officials for the women's game.

Speaking at her induction in the Hall of Fame, Welch told BBC Sport: "It's a legacy that will go on for a few years and I'm happy for it to.

"But in a few years' time, I hope somebody else picks up that legacy and drives it further on from what I have.

"That is what my new role is in the future. It would be nice if people are not talking about Rebecca Welch any more, but about another female official who has done the same as me and hopefully a little bit more."

There are now 14 female referees on football's international list and a 113% increase in the number of woman officials since 2020, according to figures released by the Football Association last month.

Positives - Mary Fowler has looked bright for City and Khadija Shaw is still out there after an earlier injury scare.

Hammarby are frustrating City. The second half will be better. It has to be.

Manchester City have shook things up a bit. Mary Fowler has come over to the left wing, with Aoba Fujino going the other way.

The pair are fizzing in plenty of crosses, but no one in the middle has been able to get a foot in to direct it goalwards.

Star of the first half so far has been the Hammarby drummer, who hasn't stopped since before the game. The away fans are making a good noise, imagine what they will do if they score one.

A chance for Hammarby after they had not been any sort of attacking threat at all in the opening 39 minutes. Julie Blakstad, close to the penalty spot, tries to twist and turn to create a shooting chance, but loses the ball, only for it to fall to Asato Miyagawa.

She is unmarked but can only fire wastefully over the bar. That was a real opportunity and the Swedes may live to regret not taking that one.
