A perfect start for Manchester City. They beat European champions Barcelona 2-0 in their opener and followed that with a 3-2 win in Austria against St Polten.

Hammarby defeated St Polten 2-0 but were then crushed 9-0 at Barcelona. It's 16 goals in two games for Barcelona as they beat St Polten 7-0 earlier today.

Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor says the club's new women's director of football Therese Sjogran will "really help" them in the January transfer window.

The former Sweden international will lead recruitment, as well as first team coach and player development at the Women's Super League club.

Sjogran, who spent 10 years as sporting director at Swedish champions FC Rosengard, starts her role on 1 December.

"I'm looking forward to working with Therese. We have had conversations already, discussing the positive results Rosengard had this season," said Taylor. "We need someone with the experience she has having been a player and having been in the director's role for a number of years.

"That's what we need. The January window is around the corner. Therese is going to really help us in that space."

Sjogran knows the Swedish market well from her time at Rosengard and it has proved to be a talent pool for WSL clubs in recent years.

Asked if she may help the club sign Swedish talent, Taylor said: "Maybe, who knows? She has real strength in that area and knows the league really well.

"We have had discussions already around certain players and of course we have a plan going into that January window."

It's a pretty cold one at Joie Stadium tonight.

The City supporters are out with their sky blue bobble hats and scarves, but the Hammarby fans are keeping themselves warm with constant chanting, clapping and flag waving.

Arsenal are now in a very strong position to qualify for the quarter-finals after thrashing Juventus in Italy. If the Gunners beat Juventus in London later this month then they would only need a point at Valerenga in December to qualify with a game to spare.

Manchester City players know they "have to put on a good performance" when selected because of competition in the squad, says midfielder Laura Coombs.

The 33-year-old has not started a game this season with City sitting top of the Women's Super League table and their Women's Champions League group.

"We’ve not always had a great start," said Coombs, who is again on the bench tonight. "We’re feeling really good at the minute and that’s being reflected in the WSL and other competitions.

She has come off the bench in recent games and Coombs says she wants to give as much energy on the pitch as a substitute, as she would if she was starting.

"The competition in the squad is super high. Every week players go out knowing they have to put on a performance. Everyone wants to start. Everyone wants that. But if that’s the role [as a substitute] I have at the minute, I just want to do it to the best of my ability.

"Of course it’s disappointing not to play [as much] but everyone wants that. There’s only 11 players who can start."

When Manchester City host Hammarby in the Women’s Champions League tonight, home supporters at the Joie Stadium might be surprised by what they see.

Whether Hammarby are playing at their modest Kanalplan home in the Sodermalm district of Stockholm, at the capital's 28,000-capacity Tele2 Arena, up and down Sweden or even overseas, they receive the kind of support rarely seen in women’s football.

Their 9-0 defeat by Barcelona on matchday two made headlines, but on social media it was photos and videos of the travelling Hammarby fans that gained the most traction.

About 350 Bajen, as Hammarby supporters are known, packed out a corner of the Estadi Johan Cruyff. As the players emerged on to the pitch, the Swedish fans held up a green and white choreography and drowned out their hosts. They did not stop all game.

There will be about 400 away fans in Manchester.

Hammarby supporters are showing what the future of women’s football fandom could look like, but it has not always been like that. It all started about 10 years ago when Hammarby fan Ulf Stenback and a group of friends founded the Bajens Tjejtjusare group with the aim of giving the women's team the kind of vocal backing enjoyed by the men.

"In the beginning it was very much the social aspect which was the main reason to go to matches, just like with other sections of the club such as handball or hockey," Hammarby fan Daniel Hommrich tells BBC Sport.

We're just a stone's throw away from the Etihad Stadium, where Manchester City hit four past Tottenham in front of 10,319 fans on Friday night.

Gareth Taylor will be hoping for the same sort of success tonight.

Beat Hammarby and not only will City continue their 100% record in the Champions League this season, they will also extend their winning run to 10 games in all competitions.

What a night for Arsenal. They swept aside Juventus thanks to goals from Frida Maanum, Stina Blackstenius, Mariona Caldentey and Caitlin Foord.

The travelling Gunners fans are in the stands celebrating and rightly so. A superb performance from their side.

It's all over at Estadi Johan Cruyff and Barcelona have put seven past St. Polten.

The win puts them back level with Manchester City, for now, on six points.

All credit to interim Arsenal boss Renee Slegers, her substitutions have all made a huge impact. Her job interview for the manager's position is going very, very well indeed.

Remember, if two sides end up level on points after six matches then it goes to head-to-head record as the first decider. Unless Arsenal lose 5-0 at home to Juventus in the rematch in London later this month, this could prove to be a very crucial result in Group C.

Emily Fox, who has enjoyed a fine evening's work is off, replaced by Laia Codina Panedas, before Lia Walti also leaves and Kyra Cooney-Cross comes on in the last change of the night for Arsenal.

The travelling Hammarby support have arrived in their hundreds and they've been loudly cheering on their side from the moment they stepped into Joie Stadium.

They're banging at the drums, trying to drown out the music being played by the Manchester City DJ.

They're doing a pretty good job.

A diving header from Amalie Vangsgaard is a rare second-half chance for Juventus, but it goes well wide.

Another change for Arsenal. Alessia Russo goes off and on comes Lina Hurtig, a two-time Serie A winner with Juventus before she joined the Gunners in 2022.

A couple of players familiar to WSL fans have come on for Juventus, with ex-Brighton defender Emma Kullberg and former Everton midfielder Hanna Bennison introduced.
