The two additional matches each team played in the league phase was against a team from their own seeding pot. For example, the extra matches played by a team in pot 4 would have been against fellow pot 4 teams. This makes the competition fairer, shown by the number of 'big' teams missing out on the top 8.

Real [Madrid]'s history with the competition, it's what they turn up for isn't it? When the Champions League music comes on.
People will say where did they finish in the group, look at the history of where they finish in the group, they always get over the line, then they kick-off at the second stage.
You'd rather face Bayern Munich, the quality they've got is phenomenal but they've been hit or miss this season.
They are explaining how the draw will work, here's a post on that we made earlier.
Read it - it's quicker than listening to the official explanation.
You don't want to fall asleep and miss the draw...

On home and away legs: It can be huge, it really can. You can go to Celtic Park or somewhere like Anfield, if Liverpool were in the knock-outs. You need that backing of your fans, you need to make it hostile, you need to make it so difficult.
How many times have we seen that in European Cups or competitions where it's gone to the second leg, they've been trailing and then teams have come from behind. It makes a big difference having that home advantage.
Former Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona man Thiago Alcantara is being invited on to the stage now.
He knows a thing or two about playing in and winning this competition...

To be the best, you've got to beat the best. Absolutely no reason why we can't see off Madrid or Munich. Khusanov will be settled, Marmoush will be scoring, we'll give them a hell of a game, and they should be just as worried about playing us.

Are we diluting the quality of football we are seeing? Because players are getting burnt out, there's a lot of football, a lot of travelling within that time frame, it's not ideal.
You could see the delight on Andrew Robertson's face, it's a situation where you can go 'I can sit back and rest now and we can enjoy this moment'. There will be other teams looking at it, thinking it's more cash in the bank.
Dramatic montage number two showing clips of each team involved in today's play-off draw. Funky beat being played over it too. Good vibes.

It did feel like I was revising for my A-Levels, I had so many notes. It was frantic.
Someone like Lille, they started 12th in the table, they ended up in the top eight. It was moving all the time the league table.
In terms of the format, they had two aims, every game mattering and more games between the big sides. The fans in the ground, I wonder how easy it was for them to follow it?
How did you enjoy Wednesday's 18 matches, BBC Radio 5 Live's John Bennett admits to being a bit frantic by the end of it...
