There are lots of positives to take away from these games and I'm sure Northern Ireland are hoping to take maximum points from the July window.

We scored the goal early on but then Portugal started to grow into the game and bar a couple of late chances, Emily Wilson breaking down the left, I don't think their goalkeeper had many shots or passes to deal with and probably it is a fair reflection the score-line.

But it shows the improvement Northern Ireland have made from Friday night, to go away and lose 4-0 but they were really in the game tonight.

It was a much better display from Northern Ireland than in Leiria as they contained Portugal for large spells of the game, but again defensive lapses cost them dear.

They will now battle it out with Bosnia-Herzegovina for second place in the group and will need to win their next two qualifiers in July to secure second.

Portugal all but secure top spot in Group B3 as they are the victors at Mourneview Park this evening.

Northern Ireland remain in third place after Bosnia and Herzegovina's victory against Malta meant they moved up to second place.

As for the away side, they remain unbeaten in the group and have a much superior goal difference compared to the rest of the group.

Not only has Andreia Norton scored what, as it stands, is the winning goal but she has been superb in midfield and has regained possession for Portugal on countless occasions when Northern Ireland attempt to push forward.

A really strong performance from the Benfica midfielder.

There will be six minutes of additional time.

Will we see another goal?

Caragh Hamilton and Keri Halliday's evenings are over as they are replaced by Nadene Caldwell and Louise McDaniel.

Meanwhile for the away side, Ana Dias replaces Telma Encarnacao.

Rachel Dugdale's corner is palmed away by Ines Pereira, but Emily Wilson heads the danger back into the busy box.

However, Casey Howe misjudges her attempted pass to Keri Halliday.

Despite a disciplined second half display defensively from Northern Ireland, they have failed to work Ines Pereira in the Portugal goal since Lauren Wade's early goal with the substitutes having little impact thus far.

Rachel Dugdale intercepts Catarina Amado's attempted delivery into the box before Simone Magill does well to quickly clear Joana Marchao's resulting corner.

Good defending from the home side.

Goalscorer Lauren Wade is replaced by Emily Wilson for the home side.

Francisco Neto also makes changes and brings on Dolores Silva and Joana Marchao for Francisca Nazareth and Lucia Alves.

Francisca Nazareth and Laura Rafferty clash and Northern Ireland are awarded a free-kick.

The home side push forward thanks to the resulting free-kick and earn a throw-in in a very dangerous position, but they can't create a goalscoring chance through it.

Telma Encarnacao can't connect with a well timed pass by Lucia Alves as the away side continue to dominate.

Jessica Silva is in action again and this time she makes Jackie Burns produce a great reaction save to deny her strong strike with Rebecca McKenna clearing the rebound before anyone in a red shirt can steer the ball towards goal.
