Imran Louza equalised for Watford
Vivaldo Semedo scored his first Watford goal as they came from behind to beat Hull City 2-1 at Vicarage Road.
Oli McBurnie put the Tigers in front at half-time, and the home side were booed off after a lacklustre performance.
They improved in the second half and Imran Louza levelled before Semedo completed the turnaround 12 minutes from time.
Watford's second win of the season sees them leapfrog their opponents into 16th in the Championship table.
Both sides had sight of goal in an open start to the game, Amir Hadziahmetovic saw a volley blocked for Hull before Semedo was thwarted at the other end after being fed by Louza.
Watford began to dominate possession, but Hull took the lead on 24 minutes as McBurnie spread the ball wide to Cody Drameh, who darted down the right and picked the striker out in the area for him to finish.
Suddenly, Watford began to drift, but Semedo squandered a decent chance to level just after the half hour mark. He was unable to get enough contact on Kevin Keben's flick on to trouble Ivor Pandur in the Hull goal.
The Tigers were a consistent threat on the break. Kyle Joseph drove forward unchallenged and found McBurnie, who thundered a shot against the post, before Ryan Giles crossed for Drameh, forcing Nathan Baxter into a strong save.
Watford made a shaky start to the second half but created the first chance when Jeremy Ngakia fired at Pandur and Nestory Irankunda, Watford's danger man, fired wide soon after.
But the hosts were playing much better, and they levelled on the hour when Semedo held up a long ball and fed Louza in space, and the captain lashed home at the near post.
Hull, though, maintained their threat in transition. Charlie Hughes found himself advanced on the right and fired narrowly wide but at the other end, he made a superb goal-line clearance to deny Semedo after Pandur spilled a shot.
Semedo nodded home Louza's corner to complete the turnaround on 78 minutes and although Matty Pollock headed against the bar in stoppage time, the Hornets held on.
'Team showed great character' - reaction
Watford manager Paolo Pezzolano told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"The team showed great character, attitude, and consistency in so many moments of the game.
"We have been trying to work on getting the players moving up front more, and I was pleased with today because we showed that.
"I believe in making sure that we are physically able to keep repeating efforts and can overcome any mental tiredness we might feel in games.
"We want to keep the same energy we used to turn this result around in the following games.
"What is important for us is to continue working to keep the fans happy. In life it is about keeping going and overcoming the difficult moments."

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:
"There was too big a difference between the first and second half and that needs to improve.
"In my opinion we were the much better team and we had a couple of chances to score a second or third, and we didn't do that.
"We knew they would react in the second half but I never felt we were under pressure, but both goals we could have defended better.
"When we lose the ball they are really dangerous – maybe the best in the league. But we were very poor in the second half, I do not know why."
Jakirovic: 'The second half was very poor'
