  1. Calvert-Lewin's injury recordpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 15 August

    Leeds United

According to stats website Transfermarkt, Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed 714 days with injuries during his eight-season stint at Everton. That's nearly two full years of absence from a nine-year spell.

Calvert-Lewin missed a total of 111 games across all competitions, with his longest continuous absence coming in the first half of 2021-22 when a broken toe ruled him out between August and the new year.

Last season, he missed 14 games between January and May because of a hamstring injury - the most significant reoccuring issue throughout DCL's career. During his time with the Toffees, he spent six separate spells on the sidelines because of hamstring problems.

Those injuries have taken their toll in recent seasons. In 2024-25 started just over half of the 26 matches he played.

This has played a part in Calvert-Lewin not adding to his 11 England caps and four goals since 2021 - after he helped England to the final of the delayed Euro 2020.

  2. Calvert-Lewin 'can be outstanding for us'published at 14:10 British Summer Time 15 August

Leeds United v Everton (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Leeds United

Daniel Farke on Dominic Calvert-Lewin: "We haven't officially announced it yet, but he is more or less with us right now. He has just agreed his terms so he will be supporting us in our first match and he will be a member of our squad from this afternoon.

"We are all pretty happy and delighted that he will wear a Leeds shirt from now on. He is obviously a proven player at Premier League level. As a newly-promoted side, we want to sign players that have already delivered at the top level but are still at a good age and on the way up in their career. These boxes are all ticked by him.

"The key for him right now is to not be over-motivated. We will build his fitness step-by-step so that he is able to find confidence in his body again, but he has shown what he can do and he can be outstanding for us."

Manchester United v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport chief football news reporter

Manchester United opened their 'new' training ground last week following a £50m upgrade funded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Part of the work includes a new news conference room in the main building, with a separate area where media can congregate to grab a drink and some food.

Sir Alex Ferguson used to hold his press conferences in the main area, but downstairs not up as we are now, before switching to the Academy building on the other side of the site.

David Moyes returned to this side when he replaced Ferguson but since Louis van Gaal's time, the news conferences have taken place in the Jimmy Murphy Building, which is next to the first team training pitches.
