Summary

  1. Much better from Rangerspublished at 15:49 BST

    HT: Livingston 0-1 Rangers

    BBC Scotland at Almondvale

It feels like an obvious thing to say but this has been much, much better from Rangers today. A very nice goal, a penalty saved and a goal ruled out for handball (which was actually a very nice improvised finish from centre half Derek Cornelius).

If Russell Martin's men can see this out and claim all three points - and more importantly, back it up in Graz and Falkirk in their next couple of games - that tanker may well be turning after all.

  2. HALF-TIME Livingston 0-1 Rangerspublished at 15:49 BST

Rangers have a narrow advantage and, on the balance of play, deserve to be in front.

James Tavernier's acrobatic opener was quickly followed by a penalty that the visiting captain had saved. Later, Rangers defender Derek Cornelius' 'goal' was chalked off for offside.

Livingston started well but have struggled to force openings since falling behind.

It would be a disastrous time for Livingston to concede a goal and the perfect time for Rangers.

  5. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:45 BST

    Livingston 0-1 Rangers

The goal does not stand, seemingly for a handball by Derek Cornelius, regardless of whether there was an offside.

  6. goal

GOAL Livingston 0-2 RANGERSpublished at 15:43 BST

    Derek Cornelius

Derek Cornelius has the ball in the net but was he offside?

The Canada defender picked up after Nico Raskin's mis-placed header fell kindly at the back post and finished well on the half-voilley.

This will of course be checked.

Aasgaard has got to find his form.

We still don't know his position, don't know what his strengths are. Does he have pace, can he score goals? He just has to put it all together.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:41 BST

    Livingston 0-1 Rangers

It's not quite half-time yet but this is certainly one of Rangers' better halves of football this season, with a lot more attacking intent.

Nick Raskin tries an effort that is deflected out and the visitors have another corner. James Tavernier's delivery comes in and Bojan Miovski's volley is well blocked by Jerome Prior.

Tavernier playing a captain’s game. However, still slow possession and side-to-side passing. The defence looks so nervous. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the big Livingston boys get one back.

    Graham

Martin must have told Antman to come inside all the time. He didn't after he just arrived, but since then he's always cutting inside. He should be hitting the by-line, he's capable of it.

This is the moment Rangers could have doubled their lead but James Tavernier's penalty was saved.

  11. 'Stunning save'published at 15:37 BST

    Livingston 0-1 Rangers

    Stephen Craigan

That's a stunning save because he sees it so late.

It's a great pick out from Connor Barron who has really thrived in this game but what an incredible save.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:37 BST

    Livingston 0-1 Rangers

A brilliant take from Jerome Prior to deny Connor Barron a first Rangers goal after the midfielder drives low from the edge of the box. Prior didn't just block, he held right on the line.

  13. 17 and counting?published at 15:36 BST

    Livingston 0-1 Rangers

Seventeen - the number of unanswered goals Rangers have scored against Livingston. Five wins in a row with an aggregate score of 16-0 plus the James Tavernier cracker today.

Can Livi make a Rangers net bulge for the first time since Joel Nouble scored at Ibrox in October 2022?

  14. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 15:35 BST

    Livingston 0-1 Rangers

Livingston's Mo Sylla stoops to try and head the ball at a corner and takes a boot to the head. Bojan Miovski was trying to clear in that exchange.

Sylla gets a bit of treatment and looks able to continue.

That will do Jayden Meghoma's confidence a bit of good. He tracks back and slides in to tackle Lewis Smith and concede a thrown-in and gets a pat on the back from Rangers team-mate Nico Raskin.

Cometh the hour, cometh the captain. I've lost track of the number of times James Tavernier has pitched in with big goals for Rangers. If this fine hitch-kick is the platform which produces Russell Martin's first Premiership win then it can be filed alongside the others in the 'important' category.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:28 BST
